This was the first time we had visited the Pier House in Charlestown and I have to say it won't be the last! The atmosphere was very homely and the staff were very helpful and friendly. However, the best part of our visit was the food. I ordered fish and chips and I have to say it was the best fish I've ever tasted. The only downside was the chips were not homemade which would have made it perfect. Anyway, Whoever made it, needs a pat on the back! I'm sure the Pier House gets loads of returning customers because the food, service, location, and ambiance are second to none! Thank you

Lovely hotel, I would 100% stay here again. Customer service was outstanding! The staff were so nice. We were struggling to get taxis but the front desk staff offered to call around for us and managed to get us taxis on both days we were there which was so nice! The staff were chatty and friendly. The breakfast was really good with alot of options. The room was very spacious and the en-suit was beautiful, the room was complete with bath tub and super fluffy, large towels. Definitely the cleanest hotel I've ever been in. The bar was rowdy but friendly. As a Londoner a rowdy bar isn't usually a nice thing but this was alright, locals were friendly and it was a welcoming environment.

Lovely place as to whether you just have a drink or eat here it's also a hotel. Lovely and fresh with the views off the sea. Great friendly staff. Allows dogs 🤩❤. Just been to here again 24.3.2022 always loved this place. But food today was not nice for a lunch time. My hubby's burger was like a child's meal and a very rubbery burger. My meal well the pie was so sweet I thought I order pudding. Sorry to complain about our favourite place. 😍.UP DATE been back to the Pier house had a stake pie and chips portion was huge and pie was delicious. As always staff are great 👍 👌

Absolutely fantastic. All the staff were brilliant, always a smile on their faces and ready for a chat to advice on where or what to do. Our room (9) was huge - large double bed - comfortable, massive bathroom with a dressing area. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, saying that all food and drinks were excellent. They have a bar next-door which is a bit like a Sports bar, showing rugby, football etc., and live music on particular nights. My only negative note is that the upper rooms may be a little challenge for people with mobility issues, but not to say they're inaccessible.....

Unfortunately there was a recent fire so food wasn't up to its usual standard. Brilliant views and pleasant staff.

What a lovely setting by the harbour, seeing they had a fire recently amased the standard is still very high.

The warm, welcoming environment of this hotel made our 4-night stay more than delightful! The staff were very polite and helpful, and the service was excellent and more than satisfactory. The food here is delicious; 5 stars. The room was also very nice and comfortable for the 4 of us. If you are contemplating staying in or around St Austell, the Pier House Hotel is definitely a top accommodation to consider!

Popped in for lunch as it was one of the few places in town that had a good amount of indoor seating. Appreciated the efforts to keep things up and running after the fire, had pizzas chips and a katsu burger between us and they were all delicious! The staff were extremely helpful and clearly wanted to do the most to ensure everyone had a great meal.

The house keeping is second to none. The breakfast is excellent The pub is really busy as you would expect , that does mean it is difficult to find a quiet corner. The rooms are very good value I found this place less expensive than premier inn.

Lively little hotel in Charlestown right on the harbour very close to the beach in fact the road actually ends at the hotel. We had a spacious double bedroom with bathroom upstairs (en-suite) which was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful the restaurant area seemed very busy on Friday and Saturday and breakfast was superb they offered a full vegetarian which was great. Free parking a few metres up the road and you need to drive in to St Austells town centre. Lovely little village if you want a quiet and relaxing weekend away. Note there are no lifts or disabled access due to the hotel being situated up the stairs/high ground but overall a very pleasant stay.

We stayed in dual aspect premium room overlooking historic tall ships dock and harbour, out to sea. Stunning. Bed was fabulously comfortable and bath was big enough for two. We ate there both nights and both meals were fantastic, the chef really knows how to cook fish and according to adjacent table the steak "cut like butter". Breakfast selection was abundant and again goid quality ingredients well cooked. Staff were efficient and friendly, happy to deliver a good service, taking pride in their work. Whole experience was relaxing and great value.

A fantastic pub on the harbour front in Charlestown! This is one of our regular locations during the annual holiday in Cornwall. Such a shame to hear about the fire earlier this year which has put the rooms and restaurant out of action but they have done a great job of keeping the pub open with a limited but tasty menu! Pizzas were great! Looking forward to the refurb later in 2023 and full reopening in 2024, hopefully with the seafood pancake back on the menu!

I booked the hotel and then tried booking a table which to my horror was fully booked. I emailed the hotel and a woman called Ann responded advising they would (as a guest only so please don't think you all can) reserve a table in the bar area for a given time, excellent customer service. The room was adequate for my needs, air con worked (thank god) and the bed was very comfy. Now the food, OMG it was delicious, that's Scotch egg was amazing and the catch of the day dish was very tasty also. After the food you couldn't ask for a more picturesque town to stay, has been in Poldark btw, had a nice stroll around getting some lovely pictures. The breakfast was delicious and the lady who dealt with me was friendly and interactive. Shame I was staying on my own as the wife would have loved it. Will 100% be back at some point, well done to you all for an extremely pleasant experience.

We enjoyed the Proper Job and Harlequinn - you can tell they look after the lines, the beer was lovely! We had the cod and chips and the steamed mussels - Oh my god the mussels were DIVINE!! Fresh, full of flavour, cooked to perfection! The staff were friendly, welcoming and they did check backs!! - the place had a nice vibe. What a great location too! It's been nearly a week and I still think of those mussels! Haha! Yum!

A lovely pub, with views of the harbour. The food was good and reasonably priced. My only tiny criticism is, the food was served in cardboard boxes, I would much prefer it served on a plate. Even a cardboard plate! A personal preference which didn't detract from the good experience.

Stayed here a couple of nights and dined there too. Lovely staff - so helpful. Great selection of drinks - especially the wine list - impressive they have good staples and a few more obscure. I had lunch with one on one day- recommend the crab sandwich) and a table for 12 another day and all equally good. The fish and chips is EXCELLENT & the vegan version received positive reviews too! Breakfast is also good- quite a bit of choice & quite a few vegan options. Parking for patrons staying in the rooms is a short walk away - dinner or drinks guests incur a small charge - I think £1. The rooms are a bit dated but clean and the view from room 12 from personal experience is excellent. All round a really good experience and would recommend! I stayed with my mum and she liked it so much she went back 5 days later with her partner- so that speaks volumes. Finally they are dog friendly which is great!

Lovely lunch out celebrating my Mum's 85th birthday... excellent food and service. Easy online booking, and had the window table I requested. All the staff were efficient and friendly, and our waitress Beverly was wonderful, making my Mum's day even more special.

Had a great night at the Quiz Night at the Harbourside. Brilliant atmosphere and a good laugh. We had the vegan burger (with proper melty vegan cheese!) and a double stacked cheese burger - which both were just delicious. A very welcoming team, thanks for a great night!
