I have not been in the Red Lion for around 2 years and was so pleased to hear that it was being refurb'd. My Daughter-in-Law Dawn and I paid a visit 2 or 3 weeks ago at lunchtime and were warmly welcomed by the friendly barmaid. We were shown to our seats at a table near a window overlooking the front garden and the sun was streaming in. We ordered our lunch and it was very good value for money and the portions were HUGE........Dawn couldn't finish hers so I helped out ! ! We were so 'full' that there was no room for a dessert (shame, as I ALWAYS have one as a meal isn't complete without one) but no way could I manage it ! The Landlord/Chef came out and chatted with us about his plans for the Pub and we wish him and his staff Good Luck with it and I am sure it will be a great success. Looking forward to our next visit (and also hoping there will be an OAP date in the near future too for us 'Ladies What Lunch' ! ! ).

Just returned from a fabulous overnight stay at this charming authentic English pub. The bedrooms are spotlessly clean and thoughtfully equipped with modern showers, comfortable beds and unexpected, but appreciated, extras like towelling robes and prosecco. Our dog was also warmly welcomed. The food was very good. Recommended.

A truly wonderful, traditional pub restaurant with rooms! The new owners (only 8 months at the time of writing) really deserve to do well. Everything is 5 star - service, staff, food and rooms. We stayed for only one night, unfortunately, but from check in to leaving, nothing was too much trouble. We can thoroughly recommend this pub for every aspect of any visit, whether for food, ambience, drinks or accomodation. Thank you so much for making our trip to Kent so enjoyable.

Beautiful gem of a pub + farmhouse with 4 rooms for rent, and tables outside where you can enjoy breakfast or a cup of coffee on a sunny day. Great food, and the tea/bisquits/water bottles on the table, quality towels, comfortable bed and spacious, clean room made a roadtrip traveller very happy :-) The owner replied quickly to a late minute booking, and the staff is overall friendly and welcoming. I really recommend this place, and it is less than an hour from the ferries in a beautiful farm landscape. Also parking 👍

Absolutely nothing to mark it down. Never been in there before but warmly welcomed and we're accommodated for an evening meal even though we hadn't reserved. Menu was small but varied, food really nice and reasonably priced. Lots of locals in and the place had a lovely ambiance about it.

Travelled down from Yorkshire looking for an overnight stay in my motorhome close to the Channel tunnel. The Red lion came up and Molly the new young land lady couldn't of been more helpful. We didn't sample the food this time but we sampled few hand pulled ales all at great prices. Thank you for your lovely hospitality

A decent, traditional, British pub in Charing Heath, just off the A20 on a junction between two roads. I pulled in around 2:30, rushing in from the rain, but there was still food available. As it was getting on, we just had the light bites. The place was virtually deserted, with just one other group in the large pub interior. The service was friendly and fast, the food and drink very reasonable (although the main meals looked a bit pricey, coming out at about £17 a time). Still, a pleasant place to grab a quick bite around lunch time. It looks like they also have a few rooms above the pub and there's plenty of parking too.

A great pub with 4 lovely rooms. Good choice of beers and good pub food. The breakfast in the morning was superb. Nice friendly staff and locals. Nothing was rushed and we were made to feel welcome.

My parents stayed here as part of a birthday gift and the staff were so welcoming. They took great care of my mum who has dietary needs and the rooms were stunning - highly recommend.
