One of the best fish and chip shops in the country.
This was a return visit for us, and it didn't disappoint. Very reasonably priced as well.
We had mini fish chips and mushy peas, and haddock chips and mushy peas. The chips were excellent, not greasy at all. The peas were very tasty. The star was the fish. The haddock was beautiful, so fresh and perfectly cooked in a light batter.
My only comment would be that the perfect drink for fish and chips is a pot of tea..it's a shame that with such great food, the tea arrived in a takeaway cup with takeaway portions of milk. Fish and chips this good deserves a lot of tea with proper milk in a jug.
We will be back!
Oh, and the toilet was spotless and very modern.
Great food, (we had fish chips and mushy peas) well cooked and tasted fresh chips were nice too friendly staff and good atmosphere too. When we're in that neck of the woods again we will definitely pay another visit.... Or two! Thank you very much
By far one of the best fish and chip experiences in the area. Reasonable portion size with brilliant quality of the fish and chips. I had cod and chips and enjoyed every second of it. The batter of the fish was fresh and crispy. The curry sauce is very unique compared to the typical chip shop curry sauce but that isn't a bad thing, it's thicker and full of a more authentic curry taste.
Let's put it this way, if you live in Chapel or here on holiday you must go here for fish and chips if you want quality over ridiculous quantity.
Went to get a takeaway staff were really helpful even when we forgot to ask about an allergy they were super helpful on the phone. Food was delicious and good portions! Great value for money. Cooked to order which was perfect only down fall we ate to much 😂
Beautiful food, value for money, and welcoming staff. 2nd visit today, and I will definitely use it again.
Popped in for a mini fish and chips meal, along with a pot of curry sauce.
The shop/dining area was spotlessly clean and the staff were really friendly.
Both the fish and chips I ordered were delicious and what has to be the best curry sauce I've ever found in a chip shop, it actually tasted of curry.
I'll definitely be back for more in the future, I honestly couldn't find anything to criticise, well worthy of 5 Stars.
The best fish and chips restaurant I have ever been in England! Not surprised they have been given national award - mouthwatering fresh fish, with just right amount of delicious batter, mushy peas but super tasty with a tiny hint of garlic and other seasonings, not overcooked and chips made with young potatoes on fresh oil - not burnt but just right. I cannot wait to come back! 🤤
I'm a bit of a fish and chip connoisseur and this place is certainly up there with the best, very nice meaty haddock and also some of the best mushy peas. Not greasy either and tastes like it has just come out of the sea and a mush of haddock that some places serve. The whole shop is very nice and clean and tidy etc too. There are no minus points whatsoever and we'll be visiting fairly regularly through the winter too with not being too far away from Chapel.
Busy, but served really quickly.
Very nice food. Tasty perfectly white fish in a lovely light batter.
Enjoyed their homemade tartar sauce.
We stopped for fish and chips to eat in the car. We had not realised this place has a restaurant area and toilets. We decided to have a meal at the table rather than a takeaway. We had 2 portions of mini fish meal with peas. They do homemade cheesecake so we had that with coffees. We really enjoyed our meal. The staff were helpful. The tables were clean and the toilet was spotless. There is some parking outside. Highly recommended.
