Well, what a find! After a great walk the time was right for a great lunch and that's what we got, plus great landlord and landlady, log fire and very dog friendly. End of a perfect day but just the start for endless revisits. Thank you.
Delicious roast, great service. My new favourite pub!
Beautiful, friendly local pub. Great scotch eggs and a nice warm fire to warm your toes after a long days walk.
Friendly staff, welcoming pub, great food, and a beer garden. Bicycle friendly . Recommended
What a lovely pub garden hidden out the back, an oasis of tranquility with secluded tables.
Good beer and friendly people.
What do you want more after an evening in the moore.
Lovely proper pub. Really friendly and cosy.
Utterly splendid establishment featuring the entire spectrum of interesting rogues, eccentric legends and stalwart cohorts, set amongst a backdrop of cosy euphonious ambience and canine companionship. The fire is always on and the beer uniformly excellent. I will however comment on the fact the owner is rather lazy and has for three years neglected to update the online presence of this establishment to report the fact there is no longer food served at the Sandy Park. If beer and good company is something you enjoy - these delightful people will be more than happy to share an evening with you. If you're hungry however, have a drink here anyway. Why waste a perfectly good evening eating food when you could spend it having an existential crisis with several brand-new best friends?
PS, there's also no rooms - another thing the surprisingly technically inept owner hasn't scrubbed from the interwebs... We all have our foibles I guess.
Beautiful old pub. Well worth a walk too. Friendly people, nice happy vibe. Excellent for those who like the simple things. 👌👌👌
A friendly and warm welcome. Fireplace with a roaring fire and candle lit tables. Fairly priced drinks too. If you pass by in the evening your bound to meet an eclectic mix of locals with favinating stories to tell. I highly recommend you stop by. Wonderful pub.
Lovely old style English pub with real ale and large slate paving stones. Plenty of rustic characters slouched around the place too. Friendly service and good decor. Had a pizza which was delicious and veal which was a little bland despite the pesto type sauce. Room was great with no TVs which is a great bonus. Bed was super comfortable. Very tastefully country chic decorated. Noisy road outside mind. WiFi however is plenty so you can get your digital fill.
The morning breakfast was superb. Couldn't be faulted and beautifully presented.
The only negative was the piped Classic FM in the bar during the evening and morning. Why would you have commercial radio in a pub with adverts every 5 minutes? Just irritating! They should check out radio paradise or other commercial free internet radio stations.
Lovely beer garden to escape it all if the suns shining though.
We just popped in for a quick drink and loved it. If you're passing, consider stopping for a cleansing ale.
