Came in for a Sunday lunch and it was the best vegetarian nut roast I have ever had - they also offered gluten free! Delicious food, excellent price and the staff were so friendly. Also had a local cider which was great! I will be back again!

Lovely pub and hotel. Great friendly service. We only stayed 1 night. The evening meal was really nice and good value. Left too early for the breakfast. Overall would recommend

It was the best cream tea we’ve had! 2 huge scones, lots of fresh cream and jam, a pot of tea and best of all, the scones were nice and warm and fresh! A must for £6.95 a person! It’s a bargain 😋😋😋

Oh my just ordered takeaway fish and chips. The fish was HUGE and cooked to perfection. Delicious and the tartar sauce and minted peas were lovely. Chips were nice . Staff were lovely and a very efficient service. Thank you

We popped into this village pub cum restaurant for a bite to eat whilst on holiday staying nearby. We had a really nice evening, the landlord was welcoming and chatted with everyone... and the food was sooo tasty, as was the beer!

Absolutely triumph of a meal. The Mushroom (Veggie) Pie was absolutely delicious... but the dessert, woahhhhh, I mean I've had PLENTY of Apple Pie in my time, but not only was the pie yummy, the drops of jam, in the custard!!! GENIUS!!

We had a gorgeous cream tea here. Lovely fresh, warm scones with cream and butter and jam. They serve it all afternoon. The barman was really friendly and helpful.

In the centre of town opp, which to townies like ourselves seemed more like a large village. The staff and people there were friendly and the service provided excellent. Just one minor gripe - we were unable to open room windows otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I would, in actual fact, give it 4.75 stars. Recommended.

Lovely atmosphere and pub food, friendly owners. Their fish and chips is unrivalled - massive, crispy, soft cod and well cooked chips. We also had samosas and chill squid for starters, both of which were also excellent.

I've eaten in here a lot, the pies, fish n chips and lamb are great. My main criticism would be the salad was underwhelming and the burgers can be greasy, but still probably the best pub food around for miles.

Had a wonderful one night stay in a beautiful room (wild rose). We were made to feel so welcome on arrival by Mary and Graham. The food is excellent and so are the ales. We went for a walk to have a drink in some other pubs but the Globe Inn is by far the best. The owners and locals are so welcoming and friendly, we will definitely be back. Lou & Steve

Fantastic food and friendly service, both this year and last. The mushroom and spinach pie was excellent and the chips done perfectly. I hope I'll be in Chagford again in future to come here again!

Other reviewers had recommended the fish and chips. We therefore both had to have them (my wife's gluten free) and were not disappointed. It was delicious.

This place is a true gem; bar and restaurant retaining it’s traditional feel, whilst offering food of the highest quality and amongst the usual beverages an exhaustive selection of gins and malt whiskeys. We had the most wonderful meal last night, starting with crusty bread and a selection of olives. For main I had wild mushroom and spinach pie, dauphinois potatoes, tender stem broccoli and red cabbage. My husband had traditional fish and chips with home made mushy peas. Good portions leaving us too full for desert unfortunately. Faultless service; staff were friendly and around, not at all intrusive. We sat at the small table by the bar in front of the fireplace, not an issue at all for us unlike the person who I see has mentioned the same table in their bad review. We did not stay at the Globe overnight purely because we were travelling by motorbike and unfortunately they do not have on site parking. Admittedly Chagford is a tiny place and the parking is very close by and had we been in a car, this would not have been an issue at all. We live in Cornwall and this trip was just the one night away somewhere not too far. So we will definitely be returning, in the car and will stay and dine at the Globe Inn. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
