We booked at the last minute today for 8 people for a birthday, even though they were really busy tonight they managed to fit us in.
The food was fantastic, the staff couldn’t do enough for us and the deserts were to die for! Thank you so much, we couldn’t have eaten anywhere nicer.

Went for a family meal for my grandsons birthday. The food was excellent plenty on the plate service first class and very friendly staff. Will definitely be calling again soon.
Returned after a nice meal a couple of months ago for my daughters 8th birthday. The food was lovely and hot and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for. They put candles in my daughters desert and we all sang to her which really made her day. This is going to be my ne local when I move, I have no doubt if you speak to staff face to face rather than slag them off on here they would be happy to help. I'll be having words if my food isn't as expected that's fir sure. Keep doing what your doing hollybush. See you in 4 weeks.
Oh my such a delish meal ..... it's hard to find decent tasty vegetarian meals however here it's in abundance. The quorn sizzler was one of the best meals I've tasted . Worth a 5 star
Love this place! The staff are wonderful, we always feel so welcome and nothing is ever a trouble for them. The food is excellent, my hubby is oober fussy about steak and has had about 9 steaks there and never a complaint. The quiz night on a Wednesday is a great laugh, with free chip butties! Everything a pub should be and more!

We have never yet been here and not had an absolutely fabulous meal, always cooked lovely and piping hot, the staff are lovely and very attentive, but not intrusive. My only criticism is that service of the food can be quite slow between courses
Brilliant place! Menu is fab and great price for three courses, staff couldn't do enough for us and they were so friendly. Recommending to friends and family for sure!!! 😁

We were at the crown Llay the night before 2 4 1 food had to go back cold tough fresh food not much better and £75 for 4 adults 2 x 3 year old kids no sweet so would have been aprox double, Hollybush 3 course meal £12.95 pp and food really good. Bottom line don't go to crown Llay Go to the Hollybush Cefn y bedd

Always a pleasure to eat here waiting time isn't to bad food is always gorgeous and the staff check everything's ok n then leave you to enjoy ya meal without hastling you just how we like it! Only thing that I've noticed and can say as a negative is the mushrooms arnt drained very well so result in quite a bit of liquid next time I go I'm sure if I ask they'll squeeze the life out of them for me lol just personal preference.
Staff were very welcoming and the restaurant area was very warm and comforting. Nice open fire made it cosy. Then the menu wasn’t to big but enough to have a good choice. We chose 9oz burger and WOW it was delicious and tasty, didn’t taste like normal pub grub it tasted like it was freshly made and tasted like real home cooked food. We would highly recommend a visit and we will be revisiting.
Went for a family catch-up with a party of 7. I wasn’t expecting great things as I’ve been to plenty of UK pubs for food and it’s usually disappointing, or very pricey if good. I was proved completely wrong here! All of our mains were £9-£14, huge portions, great quality of food and delicious. My curry was properly spicy with great flavours. I couldn’t finish all of the rice, chips and naan! Service was a bit slow but it was busy on a Monday night. Only one real ale on draught but it was decent. Big car park. The toilets are quite tired and need updating, but functioned absolutely fine.
Haven't been here for about 3 years but was very pleased we chose here. We came at lunchtime and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The waitress was very nervous, but it was only her third day. She was very lovely, polite, and very attentive to us. The food was very niceand considering we chose the light bites menu the portions were a good size. I would definitely be back and would recommend it here to others.
The Hollybush are under new management after the last awful lot!! The menu is much improved and the food was delicious great value for money. So pleased that the Hollybush us back on track.
Classic pub food but delicious. Staff are always warm and friendly.
A party of 10 of us had a really great meal here. We have been many times before, but the food was superb, and we all got served at once. About a 1 hour wait in total, but they were busy and the order was correct and very good staff.
Sunday lunch was very nice however the server made ordering a saga!
It's shouldn't be hard to order 3 adults and 4 kids roast dinners.
Pudding was fantastic 😋

Writing this having just got home from The Hollybush in Cefn y Bedd.
OBVIOUSLY, if there were to be any gluten in my food, I wouldn't know until tomorrow, BUT, having spoke to the CHEF (Steve) earlier and his son has dietary needs, I felt safe in his capable hands!
The batter on my fish was so light and crispy and the chips and peas as you would expect really. Service from the waitress was, again, as expected and all were chatty too!
My wife (non Coeliac) had a Southern fried/buttermilk burger with skin on fries, coleslaw and onion rings and she rated as a high 8/10.
All in all, a very pleasant experience, so, VERY WELL DONE TO ALL !!!
Food was freshly cooked. Waitress was wonderful, very attentive, just right. Place itself is tired. And come on, vegetarian options are just not your priority
What to say always an incredible service with amazing food
Food has always been good here. Portions are good, and they're all cooked to order.
Since the change of management, there has been a shift towards catering for those wishing to have a pint or two. Before, it was very much geared towards the restaurant side. It's much more welcoming now if you're just stopping by.
Beautiful food, pretty big portions for mains, the service was great also lovely members of staff
My most favourite place to eat out 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Fantastic home cooked traditional style food at a reasonable price. The only place I know where they serve traditional Wrexham Ponch Maipe like my mum used to make. Liver and Bacon is a real hit with family and friends. I have never been disappointed with a meal or service at The Hollybush.
The staff are always polite and happy. The food was OK, only tried a pudding, though! The atmosphere has been positive whenever I have been here
This pub accommodates people even if what you want isn’t matched on the menu they will put it together for you and charge you a meal price. The food plates was huge well worth the money. I would defo recommend this place and would defo go again.

Always a good meal, properly cooked, not microwaved been using them for 15 years never had a bad meal.
They had a smaller menu on because of staff shortages, but the food was as good as ever, lovely and fresh and a good size portion too
