Bakery and eatery in the centre of Caversham. We visited there at about 1pm to be told that menu brunch items weren't on the menu anymore because of a busy morning. Not the message you want to hear from a long established bakery. The staff were friendly and helpful. We got something to eat but the experience could have been better.

Not cheap, however, the friendly, knowledgeable staff, great range of products, and the location more than make up for it. Very comfortable seating and a nice ambience. The toilets are always clean.

The friendliest staff I have ever encountered, great service, opens early. I wouldn’t particularly say it’s the best croissants I’ve ever had in my life but I really have very high standards, so it might also be me expecting too much from a British bakery comparing it to German, Dutch and French bakeries, which is not fair.

I have to be honest I didn’t give warings the time of day to start with. I felt bad, they keep reinventing themselves and are brilliant at freshening up their look, products and collaborations. I think their bread is ace and often buy their sourdough and farmhouse white. They slice it for me and that is great for making toddler sandwiches (bonus) They have a new collaboration with Anonymous coffee based only 6 miles away in Rotherfield Peppard. The flat whites are now up their with the best coffee in Caversham and in addition they have an app called BRYKS which is a digital loyalty card for any bread or coffee you buy. I have had a free coffee and discount on bread already, an excellent system. The bakery looks inviting and fresh and a place someone wants to sit and savour. They often have neat little offers at the counter. The Teacakes are a particular favourite. I’m impressed with their reinvention at a difficult time post pandemic. They are a credit to caversham and a local gem.

A super bakery that sells the most amazing cakes. I ordered a selection of old style pastries like Eccles cakes, gypsy tart, lardy cake etc., for fathers day. They were well received and thoroughly enjoyed. Will return.

Has quick service hot drink. But general bakery service far too slow, no urgency by staff. Or under staffed ss today. One older lady and one young girl.

really good local family bakery and coffee shop opposite the new battleship grey precinct in Caversham town centre. this is where the locals like to go. the best toast and marmite you will ever have alongside a good mug of tea.Bath buns and Lardy cake too, delicious, dry and moist in their own way. nice friendly service as you would expect from an independent shop.sliced loaf to take away for more toast at home. ..thanks

Great, freshly baked goodies and very friendly staff with a 'can do' attitude. They really do go out of their way to accommodate all requests. This place is a bakery gem of Reading!
