Me and my partner stay at the hotel a few times a year without a single complaint. Tonight again we have enjoyed the friendly staff and the food in the restaurant was absolutely beautiful!! My favourite is the succulent chicken Kiev (don't let the name fool u) Never tasted such a beautiful put together meal on a plate. The lamb hotpot is also another fave of ours. Cant fault the staff in any way so friendly and lovely company. We would highly recommend this place without a doubt.

Me and my wife had our wedding and evening reception at The Royal Toby on 02/08/18, we booked "The Whole Hog" package.
The wedding co-coordinators Chelsea and Jordan where phenomenal with the service they provided to us, always attentive to our every need and nothing was ever too much trouble.
Joe and Brodie made sure our day went as smooth as silk, working very hard behind the scenes to provide flawless transitions into different parts of our wedding ceremony and evening reception, again nothing was too much trouble and they was always polite and very very professional.
The food was beyond brilliant, we received compliments from all our guests on how good the food was - it was cooked to perfection and received ample amounts from the canapes to the hog roast buffet itself.
To summarise, if you want £10,000+ worth of wedding but do not have that budget then I would highly recommend this venue and package. Everything exceeded our expectations and we have got real value for money by booking our wedding here, everybody thoroughly enjoyed and you truly receive a 5 star service.

We had our wedding at the Rhyddings Suite on 3rd February and had the most amazing time. From the minute the wedding was booked, Jordan and the rest of the staff were simply fab. The communication was excellent and on the day, I felt they went above and beyond what was expected. Joe and the staff in the Rhyddings Suite worked so hard to make sure we were all okay and that the day went without a hitch (no pun intended). Put simply, I couldn't rate The Royal Toby and its staff any higher. Thank you so much for helping us enjoy and celebrate our day

We had our wedding ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception here on 6th July and cannot thank Jordan and the rest of the Royal Toby staff enough, they made the day perfect and nothing was too much trouble, anything we needed they sorted (even fixing my veil and hair when it came out which I’m sure isn’t in their job description) We were in the Rhydding suite for all three parts of the wedding and the staff did a fantastic job turning the room around after each part and making it look truely magical...Everything was just perfect! Special thank you to Jordan for being an amazing wedding planner...you made me feel so at ease over the 18 months of planning, calming me down when I had flappy moments, taking control when I needed help and felt swamped with it all and for just being there at the end of an email or phone call when I needed her! Would 100% recommend The Royal Toby to anyone who is getting married and looking for wedding venues! Wish I could do it all again!!

Me and mum came Here to the Rydings Suite on NYE 2017 to Watch the Jersey Boys Tribute Band what a fantastic night we both had�, the food and service was 1st class loved everything, the room was truly stunning , the Band was amazing we truly had a fantastic evening nothing was too much trouble for rhe staff, food was cooked to perfection and was very tasty 5 Star all the way the whole evening was wonderful. Stayed with 2 of my grandchildren both grandchildren where 16 years old boy girl had a fantastic time the room had a full size double n full size single bed . The room had plenty of room for the beds.was lovely and clean and the staff where great nothing was to much trouble for the would highly recommend this hotel,the breakfast is out of this world thank you for a fantastic stay will definitely be stay here again
We had a family meal for my birthday 19 of us and the service was excellent meal very good n really good value would definitely recommend it
A massive thank you to Danny and all the staff for looking after my mums recent visit to the Royal Toby. My mum (71 but 21 at heart) came for afternoon tea and was so delighted about the food, service and friendliness of all the staff who served her. We celebrated our mums 70th birthday here this week and the food and service was excellent. The whole place has a warm cosy feel to it with beautiful traditional decor. I would recommend if you have a family celebration that deserves a special touch. Thank you to the team!
We are staying at the hotel as guests and we had a light bite yesterday, we were so impressed with the quality of the food and service we also booked for the Sunday roast which did not disappoint. Despite being extremely busy the waitresses and bar staff were fantastic and we were never kept waiting for anything. Great value with options for two or three courses. If we are in the area again we will be sure to call by.
The Glutenfree Afternoon Tea is on the left. Everything was delicious and there was more than enough. We ended up taking some home. I would recommend going.

This is an updated review after my visit last week, in which I wasn't very happy with the service or food.
David Wood, General Manager, took the time to contact me and invited me back again so that they could make amends and improve on our last visit.
I'm very happy to say that the service of all the staff was excellent, they were all very attentive. The food was excellent and they had taken into account my comments and made changes recommended.
The steak was cooked to perfection and the prawn salad looked lovely in it's crystal bowl.
I left the restaurant knowing that I will return.

A lovely afternoon tea in a beautiful dining room. There were cheese and onion sandwiches, ham and mustard and cream cheese and cucumber. A small sausage roll. The assortment of cakes was amazing and a lovely fresh scone with jam and clotted cream. Washed down by several cups of tea. My only moan was that I would have preferred a choice of sandwich fillings. However, it was a lovely afternoon.
Attending a wedding yesterday and staying overnight have got to say from the moment we got there to coming home the service was amazing the staff were absolutely fantastic couldn’t do enough for us and the food was fantastic room was spotless brilliant people keep up the amazing service we will be back soon thank you

Went for mother's Day, food was 80% good (veg was either massively undercooked or overcooked) and service was good. I think because it was so busy that it wasn't at its best. But we'd still go again.
