First time we have visited since covid. The place has bounced back amazingly! Food was piping hot and full of flavour.
Definitely coming back again as they were putting the carvery out and it looked amazing! So much choice of veg!

Popped in today for a carvery and it was gorgeous!
The beef was sooooo soft and the turkey was moist, both beautifully cooked! The guy carving definitely knew what he was doing and was very friendly.
Both the carver and the bar staff where friendly, chatty and just a delight.
I would highly recommend!!

Great place, great atmosphere!
Came in with my partner and had an incredible time. We didn’t order much. Just cake and I was really impressed with the service we received from a young man called Thomas. Was very polite to everyone and you can really tell he loves his job and is very passionate in what he does. He was so kind to all customers and the atmosphere was so lovely. Will be coming back again.
Had a lovely meal tonight service was amazing so nice to see some new faces and talent wanna give a shout out to kelly D and Joe behind the bar they both made our night 🖤 but we still love Carrie the long standing staff 🖤 after this I think it will be a cake away.
I have been to several of the farmhouse inn restaurants but this was the best breakfast I have had across them. The eggs were perfect and there was plenty of fresh food being replenished throughout our visit. Service was amazing. Shout out to Kelly D who made sure to check we were okay and that everything was satisfactory with our visit.
Would recommend.
The only thing that could be improved is if they have a toaster rather than doing the toast for you as it goes cold quick. However this is an issue with the company rather than this particular restaurant.
Great value for money, great food and great service
I’ve seen the negative reviews and I don’t see the issue. Last night (Fri 26th) I came here with my boyfriend we had carvery. The meat was so soft and tender. The carver called Tom (He says Tom and Jerry ha!) gave us the best service we’ve ever received he asked us how we are, if our day was nice and got to know us. He was so polite and looks like he genuinely cares about his customers. Thank you Tom and shout out to manager Lindsay! Her service was great and we also love Jack and Ray (managers). We will always come here
Delicious food from the kitchen and the carvery was amazing value for money. Me and my sister had a great time. The staff was very kind and the management was fab too. Will be coming back soon. Thank you! Xx

I previously rated Birchwood 3 stars mainly due to the service and the carvery quality, however the last 2 times we have been there has been a huge improvement, we went last night and was greater by a lovely girl who told us to sit anywhere without a reserved sign, we ordered 2 carvery and 2 drinks one being a pint and paid less than £25 for all. We were served our carvery by Tom (the second time in 2 weeks) his service us exemplary, the first time he fussed over my daughter and encouraged her to try some meat and to my surprise she did and she ate it all (she has sensory processing and is a fussy eater) again last night he gave me and my partner such a warm welcome I hope his working environment doesn't dull his sparkle. The manager joined him as he was serving us to plate up online orders, the manager appeared very hard working but also appeared visibly stressed. Food was delicious and the portion sizes very generous, we took a slice of cake to take away as we were stuff and shared the huge slab of cake in the evening which was sooo rich and moist. Forgot to mention the last visit I was served by Jo she was also a super star. Please look after these 2 staff members as they really do make visiting birchwood a pleasant experience. Great location with ample free parking and a very small free play area for kids (a few grabber machines so worth bringing a couple of £coins to keep the kids quiet)
Called for breakfast served but Jacob who was very pleasant and friendly. Food was good and warm and most things were available on the deck. The pub is a great barn of a place and was quiet and lacked atmosphere because of the size. Pub is nice and clean and very tidy. Only complaint was lack of the smaller served breakfast you used to do, I do not always want the large buffet breakfast and it is not value for money for people with a smaller appetite.
Highly recommended their carvery. Pork is delicious a must try. Kelly (staff) friendly and very helpful, thanks to you. If you visit, make sure you book your seats as they are packed specifically the weekends.
Keep it up guys. Definitely we will come back.
Great food. There is a carvery or a good choice of 'pub grub'. Unfortunately no real ale available on my visit but there are 3 real ale pulls on the bar.
A family friendly restaurant with some amusements to suit a wide age range of children.
Masses of tables and no need to book.
What a great tea here tonight. Kelly-D was the perfect host and very attentive. What can I say about the Carvery but just to say the meat was outstanding. The turkey was so succulent and the beef was perfect - actually the best beef I have ever had on a Carvery as it just melted in my mouth - thank you very much Ray
As usual, food was to a great standard at great value. Had wonderful customer service from Sophie and Leanne bringing positive energy to the table to kickstart the day. Highly recommend for those who prefer a quieter, relaxed atmosphere early in the morning.
Carvery was nice although some of the veg was a little hard from sat there quite a while from the looks of it. Ordered the brownie but when it came it was more like a chocolate cake than a brownie I don’t think they should be advertised as brownies as my son is autistic and funny with what he eats and wanted a traditional standard brownie and for £10 to waste them and when mentioned to staff all they said is it’s the way they are made. Not very good
