The most remarkable pub in my 50 years experience. Its real joy is that it is steeped in humanity in all its aspects and reflects that in many ways. If you "get it" you will never escape. That means never.

I love this pub, always fantastic food, can't wait for the pizza season. Was the first pub we took our Australian daughter in law to on her first visit to England. Highly recommended!

Stopped in on. Saturday evening for a drink and some dinner. Not much else open in the village - the Bell (as the locals call it) was warm and welcoming.
These old pubs are prettier at night and this one is no exception.
Ales on tap (my husband had the "secret" beer and declared it to be very good. House wine was ok.
Usual pub menu with daily specials of a Turkish nature... Unexpected but... Ok.
We both opted for bangers n mash - huge portions. Well cooked and very tasty.
If you're in the village visiting the Castle stop in for a bevvy or meal.

TICK! The menu here changes on a daily basis, they post a new menu up on their website every day. This ensures amazing quality that emphasises the brilliance of English produce. The duck and pigeon terrine and crab bisque displays the foodie influence of their French neighbours but with an unmissable English sensibility. The kidneys with bubble and squeak brings back old time English innovation, the abilty to create something delicious out of scraps. We had a side of samphire, a strangely tasty vegetable that is similar to seaweed and unique to the coastal line of Essex.

Really lovely traditional pub, with the casks behind the bar. Lots of different rooms to sit in , one being a Games room. Great menu particularly the Pizza which is freshly made with Turkish toppings. Got to definately check these out. The big Pizza Oven is in the outdoor area and they are all home-made along with Turkish Specials . There is something for everyone on this menu. Live music is a regular occurrence. Wish I lived nearer.

Nice typical local country pub. Food is excellent. The Bell Burger is normally my Go to although I shall try a Turkish Pizza next time as was nearby his outdoor kitchen which was good to watch. Best thing for me is that they serve ales straight from the barrel here which is becoming rare. Good atmosphere although they had Christmas music playing outside when I visited (obviously a mistake it was just amusing and people seemed to actually enjoy it)

Lovely local pub. Several small rooms, so cosy indeed. Outdoor seating and large car park. Very friendly bar staff. Last Sunday lunchtime of every month, there is live jazz. The music was great, and very relaxing. Food was delicious. I had the vegan mushroom pie. Flavours were astounding. Children enjoyed the simple fayre of chips and cauliflower cheese. No specific kids menu (which I liked - discourages nuggets...).

Really lovely and genuine 'proper' pub serving good food at a reasonable price. Staff are lovely and there are some wonderful photos of the landlady's family and past customers on the walls. The chips were absolutely to die for. Haven't had chips in a year and these were worth the wait!!! They don't do bookings so you just turn up and have a drink if you need to wait. Definitely worth a visit.

A lovely olde worlde pub in the middle of Castle Hedingham with one of the best burgers and salsa fries you can get anywhere...past and present. Friendly staff and dog friendly too, so it's great if you are taking the chance for some refreshments mid walk!

Lovely lunch here with family including a very young baby. Great menu and food was delicious. A little tricky navigating steps and narrow doorways with a pram but as it was not busy we managed and would definitely visit again.

A really quiky but extremely popular pub, they open at 6 and we got there at 6 15, already packed, won't take bookings, as soon as tables were vacated they were filled, food good, atmosphere electric if not a little to busy.

We ended up here as a booking elsewhere was unavailable! But we were not disappointed. Still great food at a very reasonable price. It was quite busy and some of our party's meal was not as hot as it could be but on the whole very pleased. Pleasant and friendly staff. Good beer and cider choice, not fashion drinks🤢. We use to visit a lot when local, quite a distance away now but will definitely be back soon. 👍

Proper boozer, a traditional village pub with decent food and a good range of ales and other drinks. They regularly have live music which is always of a high standard and often quite quirky. They have seating outside and a wood fired pizza oven which is regularly used. Inside several rooms and a couple of bars so you can find the right place depending on what sort of night you want. Loads of parking in their car park or on street outside when busy. Good service and very popular, what’s not to like.

The most amazing refreshingly different pub we’ve been to for years. Absolutely lovely food especially the option of Turkish specials. Fantastic real ales from Adnams and Maldon and an incredible warm welcome. Thanks you very much and Bell Inn we will definitely be back!!!
