We visited last Saturday. This is a proper pub. Good food choices and reasonably priced and big portions. Something for everyone. David was very welcoming and our waitress was a delight, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you. Sorry we didn't know her name. Would definitely recommend and come back again. We had a great evening.

Lovely friendly village pub, I had the roast beef on Sunday and it was wonderful, everything was hot too, my husband had the fish & Chips which was a huge portion. We will definitely be back soon! 😋😃
Great food, very helpful and friendly staff nice atmosphere plus in a great location. Will definitely be returning. The manager is a total gentleman.
A friend took me for lunch today. Pub lunch time Menu was amazing, with all sorts of mouth watering options, but they also had a blackboard with a 'posh fish finger sandwich' on it.
We both opted for the sarnie and not only it was home made fish fingers in a crusty ciabatta roll and Tartar sauce and rocket, it was served with an espresso cup of curried vegetable soup, that we drank with the sandwich.
Gorgeous, inexpensive and just what the doc would have ordered on a grim day like this.
Saluation Inn near Grittleton WILTS, I salute you.

Tasty Sunday roast this weekend! Really loved the attentive and smiley customer service. They were very accommodating and tried to fulfill our daughter’s baked beans request We’ll be back!!
Fitted us in at very short notice on a very busy night, great meal. Hopefully return next year!
My husband and I were tourists traveling the countryside and were directed towards this lovely place for dinner. They were so kind to accommodate us and we loved our time there. The food was absolutely delicious! The drinks were wonderful. The locals and their dogs completely delightful. Would highly recommend!
We took a detour solely to come here. They are dog friendly and the place is super comfy. The menu's ingredients are all from local farms and you can taste the difference and quality in every dish. The Salutation is proof that the British can definitely cook! We would love to stay more just to have time to try all their dishes. Toilet is clean, service is fast and attentive, music is excellent. A good place for the whole family or just to have the best pint on your own looking out the windows. Don't miss the opportunity!
Beautiful country pub with great food, atmosphere, lovely staff and also, very dog friendly.
Already booked for boxing day after first visit ..
The food was amazing, we had all three courses (I would not bother with starters as they were just ok) but main and dessert, top marks..staff is very friendly and welcoming. Overall recommended
A Sunday pit stop on the way home, turned out to be one of the best Sunday Roasts I’ve ever had. Service was excellent and the food superb. Definitely coming back. High recommend
Great food (slightly unseasoned main although the sticky toffee pudding was an absolute knockout!) served in a beautiful old build.
Excellent pork belly, with super crispy skin. Lovely sides of braised cabbage and polenta chips if I remember correctly. Quite a substantial portion for lunch. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived at noon for a Saturday lunch - so we could choose our table by the window in the beautiful main dining room - but it was soon buzzing as the other tables started to fill up. Unfortunately none of us tried the wines as we were driving. Good espresso. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
A real gem of a pub. We had a wonderful meal here, reasonable prices for excellent quality food. The pumpkin gnocchi was utterly delicious. Staff are very friendly and it was lovely to have some dogs hanging out.
Lovely little pub just off the M4. The interior is impressive and feels like you’re dining in a grand Tudor hall.
Service was friendly and the food was delightful. As other reviewers have recommended the teriyaki pork belly is the highlight of the menu. The fish is also worth a mention as it tasted incredibly fresh - the benefit of sourcing ingredients as locally as possible. Would definitely make the journey out here again or stop off if travelling along the M4.
Great Sunday roast. The staff were not completely welcoming but the waiters were fantastic.
