Only popped in for a drink. They are dog friendly which is brilliant. They have a nice garden plus a sort of conservatory. They serve comfort food fish and chips etc, but didn't have a chance to try any.
Wheelchair access is tricky because of cobblestones and a pothole in front of the entrance. Loos are on a level surface but very small. A large part of the interior is accessible but not the conservatory or the beer garden. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Food and drink are excellent
Really friendly staff. The kitchen took our order a few minutes before their scheduled end of dinner service which, having previously worked in hospitality, is a rarity. Terrific selection of beers that you wouldn't even find in a taphouse in central Brighton or Manchester. The first place I've foun
Came here for my 50th birthday. We had a lovely Sunday roast, which is the best I've had. Staff are lovely and friendly. There is a lovely stream nearby, where your dogs can play in. Ask for thr cauliflower cheese, it's the best!!
Regularly enjoy Sunday lunch here. Highly recommend a visit to anyone in the Cartmel area. Great food, beautifully cooked meats, imaginative vegetables, best roast spuds for miles, gravy, and extra gravy available! As I'm a Lancashire Lass, I was born with gravy in my veins, so this is a very impor
A decent village pub with an exceptional beer garden. The food was good without being spectacular. A year ago prices wouldn't have been as hiked as they seemed to me. £7 for loaded fries. £8 for two pretzels. £15 for a main. A meal for four with two rounds of drinks came in about £100.
The food was delicious with great plate presentation. We had the roasted squash & the chicken schnitzel. Dog-friendly.
First time visiting, lovely pub, food was nice, good selection to drink and a warm atmosphere, will be going again.
Popped in for some dinner as we were staying near by for a few days for our holiday. Food was lovely and was recommended the locally brewed 0.5% ale which was lovely! Staff and service all good…overall a nice pub.
Stayed for one night in one of the rooms and enjoyed the pub as well.
The room was newly refurbished and extremely clean. The furniture and design touches were very nice. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom well thought of and stocked.
Breakfast was across the road at another B&B and was deliciou
Fantastic pub, been here many times and their drink selection is excellent. Perfect place to sit by the roaring fire and enjoy the fell brewery beers. They also have a great selection of guest beers. Would recommend the fell draught stout for any Guinness drinkers.
Food has also been really good, k
Called in for Sunday roast. Only word to describe the meal. Exquisite, the beef (which there was plenty) melted in the mouth. Roast potatoes to die for and the best homemade horseradish sauce I have ever tasted. On top of that 5 star service
Our new ‘local’ having moved to Cark. Lovely welcoming staff and fine drinks available. Thank you for being there!
Great pub! Super friendly staff, good choice of beers, dog friendly and good food. The tables aren’t too packed together either. We recently spent 4 nights in Cartmel and were there every day for some refreshment after a good days walking.
Nice beer garden looking over the stream. Lovely roast beef dinner reasonably priced £15.
Fab Sunday lunch, roasted half chicken delicately flavored with rosemary. Great to see imaginative seasonal veggies (cavallo nero; Jerusalem artichokes & new season carrots). Lovely roasties & homemade Yorkshire puds. All for a very reasonable £14. The NZ Marlborough Sauvignon was spot on as well.
Found this pub as staying nearby on holiday. Nice staff and a great pub in a really lovely village. Bit of a taproom for Fell Brewery as they have a lot of their beer on keg and cask, first time trying and them and was really impressed some great beers. Would love to come back for sure.
One of the Best pub/restaurants visited. From the moment we walked in and out we had fantastic service. All the staff made you feel very welcome. The wait for service from drinks to food was absolutely spot on. Usually when you go to pub/restaurant you wait 10 minutes before you get asked what you w
Lovely friendly staff and like a tardis... Bigger on the inside than the outside.
Food was lovely. The only observation is that waiting staff need to be informed to only clear the plates once ALL are finished eating. A minor point but never the less needs to be said. Basic restaurant service ethics.
