Des & Mary supplied fish and chips for 60 plus people for my wife's 40th birthday September last year. The food was top notch and they couldn't be two nicer people. Would highly recommend them to everyone

Best fish and chips I've ever had! Highly recommend.
The only downside is... Once you've had these chips you will never ever be able to go any where else... Looks like il be livin in carshalton forever! It isn't just the food though its the service and the hosts! Beaming smiles everytime, they remember their customers and the local kids all know this place as Mary's (much to her hubbys amusement im sure hahah!) rock on x x
This is the plaice to go if you want excellent food. A friendly, family-run business. If I could I would have breakfast, lunch and dinner from there! Happy new year to Mary and hubby and family.

I WORKED HERE WHEN IT FIRST OPENED, IT WAS A GOOD FIRST JOB FOR ME, APART FROM THE STRAW HAT I USED TO HAVE TO WEAR LOL. THE FOOD USED TO BE GREAT THEN, MUST COME IN AND SEE HOW THEY ARE NOW :)
Best fish & chips in the area! This family run place makes amazing rustic chunky chips and their fish is just delicious! Love their curry sauce too!
The best fish and chips shop in Carshalton and quite possibly for a bigger area than that (I come up from Mitcham Junction just to get food from them).
The owners (Mary and Des) are wonderful and Mary often does charity runs, marathons and other events for the community.

This is not only the best fish & chip shop in Carshalton but it is one of the best in the whole of South London.
Staff are extremely friendly and always welcoming (even when they are busy and/or we come in late!) and the food itself is outstanding.
Chipsmiths is one of the jewels in the Carshalton crown, and we look forward to visiting again soon.

Best fish and chips around. Not greasy at all, fresh fish and crispy chips. 1 large chips and 3 medium cod is plenty for a family of 3. Good value for money and super friendly staff. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely top chippy. The fish is always immaculate- never greasy; never mushy; just perfect. And the chips are just as they should be- slightly crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inner.
Whenever I get that fish and chips craving, I jump on the bus just to go to Carshalton; I pass several other chippies on the way but none of them can hold a candle to Des and Mary’s quality- both of food and of service.
I can’t recommend Chipsmiths enough.

Amazing fish and chip shop. I used to live in the area and visit often, on my lunch or for dinner. Never had a bad takeaway. Recently moved away miss it very much as it's quite rare in this area to find such a high standard of chippy!
The best fish and chips shop I know - their fish is fresh and yummy, as are their fishcakes , and they are very generous with the chips. Everything served up with friendly smiles and kind words.Kids love the little treat of while you wait chips on a stick. A great local service!
Delicious fish and chips. I live in Sutton, but always drive to this shop to get my fix. Highly recommend for take away nights.

By far the best chips in the area, everything always tastes fresh and hot - only downside is pukka pies (Peters are far better ;) ).
