Good food albeit a little inconsistent for a franchise. I had the same meal for 3 nights in a row which came out either with or without one or two things each time. That aside the food is still tasty and a somewhat fair price within the meal deal though a majority of my favourites carry an additional charge on top of the £26 deal. Breakfast is unlimited and arguably the best part of the deal. Often busy at peak times with somewhat long wait times. The staff are friendly and helpful. The furnishings however, seem either dated or out of place in some parts.

We stopped for lunch about 2.30pm, had 2 two course meals and two drinks for less than £30.00 which considering my main was a rump steak, I thought was excellent value for money. That and the fact the steak was cooked exactly how I like it, medium rare, means next time we're back in the area we'll definitely be paying a visit.

The staff are friendly but, in the evening at least, service was quite slow. The food was good. Breakfast was super fast but that's because it's self service... I don't know if breakfast is only for Premier Inn customers or from everyone, but it is very good value.

I would have given 5 stars if it hadn't been for the attitude of our waitress when we came to pay, so 4 stars is based on the food but otherwise it would have been one. I have not eaten in a Beefeater since I went vegan which is over 35 years ago but they now have vegan options on the menu and we were staying at the Premier Inn next door so it was handy. To complicate matters I have allergies but checked the online allergen information and spoke with the Manager to discuss who was very helpful. We ordered a selection of dishes which for me were side dishes as the mains nearly all contained soya, but at least I was getting fed. Must admit the food was fine, very tasty and we left clean plates. When we asked to pay the waitress was belittling and condescending towards my husband when he was using the card reader. For some strange reason it would only accept contactless payments up to £45 not £100 like everywhere else. She seemed unable to grasp that the machine told my husband to use contactless even though our bill was more than £45. She got exceedingly excited and would not let him explain what the machine was telling him, she talked over him raising her voice as she did. All he was trying to do was explain what he, as a customer, was seeing on the screen, but she would have none of it. Worse the couple on the table next to us wanted to pay and she brought them into the belittling of my husband, as their bill was less than £45. It was totally embarrassing. To cap it all, when the couple left and she back to the table to clear it, she again kept banging on about how she knew better than the machine and him. I told her she needed to go outside, calm down and give us a break. She would have got a tip but for her attitude. What a shame such a lovely evening was spoiled by the attitude of our waitress, it left a nasty taste. Maybe she should concentrate on honing her customer service and people skills rather than her exotic eye make up and the look she was trying to achieve. It is not cool to argue with customers.

Popped in to try the Unlimited Breakfast for a nice treat. We were not disappointed. Self service full English and Continental...what more could you want? Food was hot and fresh. A great choice of teas and coffee, with juice too. Plenty of room in the restaurant. Well worth the £9.99 each for a great start to the day. Staff were great and kept everything stocked up.

Beefeater is always a firm favourite, so after travelling all the way up from London on our way home, I thought to stop past for some dinner since they are located just off the motorway. After booking online we arrived about ten minutes early but the manager didn't mind and showed us to our table, one thing is the staff at this Beefeater are really friendly and willing to help out with anything. We ordered the garlic flatbread to start and then two house stack burgers and two sirloin steaks. The flatbread came out within 15minutes and was soon demolished after driving up an appetite. It took around half an hour for our mains to come out and when they did the french fries were warm and the burgers/steaks tasted dry as if they were lying around for a while. Luckily after telling the waitress, she took us out fresh chips but since we had more driving to do, we just ate our mains despite them being a little warm. Other than that our visit to the Border Gate Beefeater was great, really clean restaurant, staff lovely and the food is normally really good. Don't let this put you off though as they are a really good restaurant chain.

Staff were great. Very friendly and understanding. We asked to move tables because they was a party of 12 nearby making too much noise for our little ones and they were able to accommodate. The food was ok. My only bug bear was that it took over 20 minutes to get our dessert but other than that, I'll be happy to come again

I visited this restaurant as part of my stay with Premier Inn next door. I had a continental breakfast for £7.50. The food available was good, the baked goods and yoghurt were particularly nice. Hope to visit again. Decent value.

Really nice and their lunch menu is a bargain at 2 courses for £8.95. I had flatbread and 4oz rump steak sandwich, my mum had flatbread and open grilled chicken sandwich. Although the flatbread was small it was delicious and to be honest enough for lunch. Soft drinks at bottomless at £2.99. A pot of tea was ample for 2 large cups. It’s accessible, it has a separate disabled toilet, which is quite small hence losing a star. Other toilets were pleasant and clean. All in all a lovely lunch for two for £30. Would definitely come again.

I had the pleasure of utilising Border Gate in Carlisle for training purposes, and I must say their service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and attentive to every detail, making the overall experience smooth and enjoyable. The function room was spacious and well-equipped, providing an excellent environment for training sessions. I highly recommend Border Gate for their welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service.
