Just had lunch at Greyhound Inn and can't praise the experience enough, all the staff were very friendly and attentive, the food arrived in a timely manner and was piping hot, very generous with the portions and well cooked.
The Greyhound Inn is well decorated, has a well stocked bar and a good selection of meals on the menu and is very well priced - it also has a warm village ambience about it, and the owners are working extremely hard to make it a "must go to place" - we will definitely be returning in the very near future, keep up the good work 🍻👍
Had a drink and something to eat. Excellent one must say. Very friendly and excellent service. Dog friendly pub .
Cracking ale house just what we needed after 24 miles Sam the barmaid was excellent font of knowledge the steak pie was the best I’ve ever had an I mean ever washed down with an excellent pint of Guinness sent us home happy 😃
Lovely place and hosts. Food is excellent quality & very good value for money. We enjoyed it so much we paid it a return visit. The steak pie was one of the best we have tasted, came with chips or mash & plenty of veg. Very dog friendly. Give it a try if you are in the area.
2 real ales on ,popped in while waiting for the bus back to Carlisle. Tried the 2 ales on were nice and the pub is worth a visit
Lovely pub fab home cooked menu generous portions good motorhome stopover quiet overnight good dog walking area next to pub flat surface
What a find. Looked for a country pub after leaving Gretna. This came up and definitely did not disappoint. Very welcoming, excellent food & pricing, great visual music. Local knowledge by local people. What a find. We have a dog and there is a park next door with country walks. Perfect. Statue of Edward I, who was killed & buried here. Definite worth the find. Recommend.
We called in for a light lunch and a cuppa coffee. I had soup and a gluten free roll and my husband had a burger. The food was very good and the price was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pub was clean and tidy.
Worth the walk for these homemade chips!
Walking the Hadrians Way our group arranged to have lunch at the Greyhound Inn. A lovely welcome by management. We were impressed by the quality and reasonable price of the food served. I would not normally order chips as I do not enjoy eating tasteless, frozen chips. But so glad I did as the chips here were delicious. Proper home made chips served piping hot, crispy outer with a beautiful flavour. The burger, cumberland sausage and paninis were all very tasty, but the chips were exceptional.
I live in Scotland and returned a few weeks later with my husband for lunch - and he agreed the best chips !! We will be back!
Called in after a long walk and had a lovely gammon steak with all the trimmings. Nice pub, friendly locals. A minor point, but my egg was hard, but it didn't spoil the meal. Would definitely recommend.
