It's not a headliner but it does the job. Everything you expect and will presented. The only downside is the furniture is like something from a crèche. Toilets upstairs nice beer garden no parking. Would go back.

Had a few beers and a breakfast wrap in here before catching a train. Had 4 pints of Worthingtons and was as good as you'll get and a just over a couple of quid was bang on for value. Breakfast wrap was lovely and very filling. Was in William Rufus around 10.30am to 12pm and was nice and chilled. Served by 2 different staff and both nice and chatty and very helpful. Definitely be going back

Very busy high street Spoons that is very sports orientated inside.Definitely a drinkers pub and a place to go after you've done your shopping.Only had a drink this time but I did see plenty of food going out and it looked great.Service at the bar was quick and the staff were friendly, well worth a visit if your in the area!!!! Mary St Car park just across the road and down the alley ,pay and display .

Good food at a good price. When I went in yesterday we had excellent service, food arrived quickly. The biggest downfall that every spoons has is the men's toilets. Not Very nice at all.

Nice big weatherspoons, was a bit chilly though as they had the air con on. Have a seating area outside at rear which is pleasant. Was disappointed that 2 of the food dishes we wanted were out of stock but had the chicken basket which was nice. Pint of strongbow only £2.69

This was a nice pub to visit with my family on a day out in Carlisle, positioned closely to the station so we did not have to leave too long before our scheduled journey. I ordered 3 family drinks at the bar, though one of us had to change their choice because the drink was out of stock sadly. My double absolute vodka with a Pepsi mixer was brilliant however, like the seating afront a curtain and the marvellous cylinder lights overhead! I went on to have a Chicken Jalfrezi curry deal for tea that is truly the full package, featuring two poppadoms, rice, naan bread and a sauce! A great Pepsi Max Cherry drink accompanied my meal and the service was quite good, delivered to my table where cleanliness was proper like the rest of the pub and the floor has an interesting pattern.

Cheap Meals for a Comfy place. Although many people are coming in everybody is polite and the staff were easy to approach with. We both ordered the steak with 5 chicken buffalo wings. It was good!

I was traveling back to Scotland from Durham and to get out of the rain while I waited for my train change I went to this nice wee place. Was on the morning and the evening visits an ecelctic mix and when the evening football was on everyone was well behaved and the staff at both visits extremely helpful. Highly recommended.

Food was quick, tasty and great price however no napkins so I had to go stand and wait to get some, no straws for the drinks at all, out of straws apparently so a few delays but in all in all, great spot for a quick bite.

A perfect location for a catch-up with friends and for football fans to enjoy the match on the big screen. We had a simple and reasonably priced meal, which included unlimited hot drink refills. We also indulged with a small amount of reasonably priced alcohol too. There was a good choice of background music, which was not overpowering. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the premises were clean with the toilets kept in a reasonable condition. I would definitely use the William Rufus as a location for a catchup or get-together again. As a word of caution, this location is definitely part of the popular weekend night-time economy, so do be mindful if you're thinking of a quiet Friday or Saturday evening/night.

Nice place to have a quick meal out with friends or family. The food is as good as a pub food can be and at a fair price. The outside area is almost the entire day shaded and you cannot enjoy the few sunny days you have in Carlisle:))).

Had the curry, rice and naan...it was alright, nice enough. Missed the chutney because they had ran out. But the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. I'd go again for sure.

Great bar with drinks at reasonable prices. Food always good. Atmosphere great at weekends with sport on numerous TV screens. Can be nice and quiet during the week. Good for meals with the kids.

It's always a pleasure to stop here when in Carlisle. A large open bar with plenty of seats. The beer selection as usual for Wetherspoons is second to none and at great prices. Just a short walk from the railway station and the Castle.

Came here today good service and value like most spoons. Looks more modern loads of TVs everywhere showing sports which I've not seen before There where two spoons within a few yards of each other haven't seen that before either!
