The food was good and the service fine. We had four small plates and two sides. I was very excited about the truffle chips, but I must say I was disappointed by what I got. In my head I would get chips with a load of truffle mayo and parmesan cheese on top. Instead I got chips that had a vague hint of truffle and a lot of just potato. The rest of the food was nice. The vibe was nice, but I found the music a bit loud, but that is just my opinion.

We were recommended 'The Last Zebra' by some employees at the nearby local Hotel Chocolat as we were on holiday and wanted some good, local, independent food. I'm pleased to say that we found this here. First impressions is of a very stylish restaurant with the centre piece being the natural light coming from the skylight which made the venue so bright and welcoming. The music selection added to the atmosphere which just made it feel like a good place to eat. The ordering process was a tad confusing. The menu says order drinks from the app but then whilst doing that, an employee also came over to take a drinks order. Ordering and service was at a good pace and we could see into the kitchen and see how clean it was. I ordered the Confit duck which was delicious. The Hoisin gravy needs to be bottled and sold as it was amazing. The pickled onion rings made so much sense and no idea why no where else has thought of this! My partner ordered the Cumbrian burger which was also very delicious. During our meal, our server swapped to another employee 'Emily' who was fantastic! Emily provided friendly professional customer service and a really good recommendation for dessert of the Vanilla and Blueberry Crème Brulee which rounded off our meal perfectly. Overall, a great experience and a special thank you to Emily for the excellent service and recommendation!

Heading back South from Scotland, a trio of us decided after a weekend of eating junk at a bike rally, service station grub just wasn't going to cut it... so we took a slight detour into Carlise. Having never visited Carlisle before, we had no idea where to go but spotted this place because I liked the name 😂 Stopped to look at the menu outside and another guest who'd just arrived told us "the food is great, if you need convincing" We were sold and she WAS NOT WRONG! The menu was varied and quirky and I basically wanted everything! I went for the Salt and Chilli Confit Duck and the Vietnamese Belly pork. Both dishes were absolutely to die for! (Our friend was also very impressed with his steak, which was cooked to perfection) I wouldn't pop this in the cheap eats category but i can definitely say you get what you pay for, it's absolutely worth it! (Even saying that, it's really not badly priced!) The staff were friendly, welcoming, attentive, and efficient. The restaurant itself was clean and trendy, they had a huge selection of alcoholic drinks. Lovely setting and atmosphere, would be lovely for a treat, although we didn't feel out of place or looked down on in all our biker gear! Highly recommend giving it a go. I would 100%return when coming back to Carlisle (Or passing through from Scotland again!)

Ate here last night as part of my fiancee's birthday weekend. We had a burger, plus some of the small plates between us. Everything was full of flavour, and everything was different. We ate every scrap and absolutely loved it. Plus, we got a frozen strawberry daiquiri, which was fab. Definitely go here if you have the chance.

Amazing food and atmosphere! We got the sea bass hash, chicken burgers, sticky toffee puddings and key lime pie. Good service and good value for money. I also loved how they had plenty of non alcoholic options for drinks such as the juice bar! 10/10🌟

We came into The last Zebra to have a family meal; the menu was great for us with a good selection. My children shared from the trio selection as squid was in the menu with Mac n cheese… I had gyros. The food was really lovely, good service, slightly expensive for a family of 3 (approx £19pp for what we had) but I guess it’s the same in most places nowadays so it was a treat for us :).

The service was excellent as was the food. Our group of three ordered Mizo steak noodles, Japanese chicken and a buttermilk chicken burger , all of which were delicious.

Just had a meal at this fabulous restaurant in Carlisle. We chose it because it had an extensive and exciting plant based menu. Lots of meat / fish options as well. Fabulous flavours, great presentation and friendly service. Wish there was one near us and will return if we come this way again! Thank you!

Returning to the pleasant city of Carlisle, our favourite restaurants were closed (it was a Monday). Googling around, Last Zebra popped up. And were we pleased! Not a huge menu, but an excellent variety. A bottle of good Shiraz, and prompt, pleasant and helpful service from a youthful team. We had been away in Ireland for a fortnight, and enjoyed some very good meals. But this was probably the best. Thanks, Zebra. You rounded of an excellent holiday in great style!
