I don’t normally leave 5 ⭐️ reviews and I’ve eaten in plenty of nice restaurants (most of them a rip off down south) but this has to be one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time, paired with the most friendly staff.
To go into specifics I had the rack of lamb, which was cooked to perfection and the quality was outstanding. All of the veg and sides were also perfectly cooked, hot and delicious.
To top it all off the dessert selection is always the most important for me and I went for the Apple Tarte Tatin which was better than a one I had in a Michelin star restaurant. The presentation of all the 8 desserts we ordered was exquisite.
A massive thank you to the team and hats off to the chef!
Good place for a meal, if you like what they serve. I have simple tastes so often just get the burger. Not tried the steak yet which is my usual go to as I wouldn't be able to eat a 16oz one in one go. Friendly staff though could possibly provide better training. The staff I asked for a coffee took payment then just went back to eating her own meal and drying glasses. It turned out she didn't know how to use the coffee machine. Relatively expensive for meals for the area but not overly so, and they are nice meals. They also cater for dietary restrictions. Parking isn't great.
We came here for our anniversary dinner last night. The staff were quick to show us to a table
Unfortunately we were placed next to a noisy family and could not hold a conversation without repeating ourselves and having to speak loudly just to hear each other across the table. In the end we moved outside for some peace. The staff were a little slow to bring menus, pick up our order etc but the food was deliciously freshly cooked to order and there is a great choice. The seafood ravioli is wonderful and the double chocolate fudge cake was a real treat. We will definitely book again but a little later in the evening to avoid the noisy families and possibly ask for a quiet table.
Lovely pub/restaurant with lots fantastic stuff around. Staff so friendly.
Food and drinks looked so good. If possible avoid roast dinner as it’s so salty as had beef roast. Couldn’t finish. Would come back again and choose different meal.
Slightly expensive.
What a find....!! Beautiful pub/restaurant with a lovely quirky feel & ambience....as you walk in you are immediately taken back in time to how pubs used to be: a warm, cosy, welcoming feel....just perfect!! We came out for a relaxed birthday meal, had pre dinner drinks in the bar area & then after about 45 mins were asked if we would like to go to our table, the specials on offer suited our tastes perfectly & did not disappoint,we ordered various starters & a main....all exquisitely presented. We would have loved to have ordered dessert but frankly were so pleasantly full. The whole experience was a positive one, with warm friendly staff, the food is of a high quality & you get the feeling that this is 'their thing'! In the current economic 'cost of living crisis' we found the menu to be of good value (particularly if you stick to the days 'specials'),you could spend more in Nando's or Pizza hut!!We will DEFFINATELY be returning & I think this will be just perfect in the run up to Christmas!! Thankyou all.
Brilliant place, good food at acceptable price. Lovely staff and very welcoming location. We will definitely go there again.
