We booked for 6.00 on Sunday, glad we did as the place was packed when we got there. Had garlic cheese and tomato pizza bread for starters, I had a pizza and my husband had cannelloni with portion of chips (proper chips not frozen, it makes such a difference) it was all delicious, very tasty and good portion sizes, I was stuffed. We've been to lots of Italians in Carlisle and have to say the food is better than most, top marks. Service was very friendly & attentive, we enjoyed it so much we booked for next week on the way out - well done Giannis.
We absolutely love Gianni's!!! The atmosphere is always brilliant as is the food. Plus the staff are all lovely and nothing is too much trouble. We cant recommend this place enough. We genuinely wouldnt go anywhere else.
Had a meal for my daughters 13th birthday the food and staff were excellent friendly and so welcoming would highly recommend
Our favourite place to eat, the food is excellent and there are often "specials" to tempt you away from the good regular menu. Gianni and all his staff are very welcoming and are more like friends.
Wandering around Carlisle looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled across this restaurant. What a stroke of luck. Lovely authentic Italian food and friendly staff. Recommended.

Proper family run Italian Restaurant, just like I've experienced on my visits to Italy. Food quality, preparation and service is first class - do try the specials as they are an opportunity to try dishes that would likely cost you a lot more on the a'la carte. On that subject, the prices are very reasonable by Carlisle standards and very good by any other city's. I have patronised this restaurant many times over the 6 years since I have made Carlisle my home and have always been treated like as a valued customer and served excellent, fresh and delightful Italian cuisine in an atmosphere that I would describe as authentic.

My first visit, a family night out celebrating Mum's visit. Very easy to book a table, which was a must even though we went mid-week it was really busy. We used the pay car park directly opposite for ease. You can park for free for 2 hours in nearby disc zone streets, with a Cumbria parking disc available free from many local outlets.
Unfortunately we were not advised of the hours wait for food when we ordered, but the food was worth it. The staff were helpful and attentive, we had pitchers of water for the table during our wait. There are stairs to the toilet facilities and to the front of the restaurant itself, so if you require accessible facilities this will be difficult.
This is most definitely the most authentic Italian restaurant I've been to with the food and atmosphere reminding me of Rome.
Mum isn't a fan of huge plates of food these days and was able to order a smaller meal from the children's section. We managed starters and mains, resorting to fabulous limoncello shots as afters.
I'm really looking forward to going back here and will be making sure I have room for a sweet too!!
Food was amazing. Perfectly cooked. The steak with gorgonzola sauce was the best I've had. The atmosphere was electric. The staff were very welcoming and looked after you. Fully recommended and definitely go again

We were running late to find a spot for quick dinner in Carlisle and managed to locate a parking spot and Gianni's pretty much at the same time.
Staff checked with the chef to see if they could servr 2 more diners before closing. All okay and we were seated. We ordered sharpish as we were aware of the time. Food was fresh and served quickly.
We had a lovely chat with the owner's daughter and the staff were also very engaging. Apparently Gianni's has been running for 3 decades and the photos around the restaurant documents its history and all the fun revellers have had down the years at Gianni's.
Busy but good pizza. Staff very friendly and helpful. Gianni's pizza very good. We got seated without a booking but expect we were lucky probably should book a table

A teeny little Italian restaurant with proper decent traditional meals on offer.
We went here post graduation ceremony and so glad we did as it was one of the best meals I have had for a while.
Perfect seat at a comfy table and LOVED the decor. You could almost believe you are in a little village in Italy.
Very prompt and FAST service.
Firstly I had warm goats cheese on bread with ragu as in the photo. Wow. Incredible flavours and had be completely dribbling for the next course.
Next was chicken valdostana(might have spelt that wrong) chicken breast, breaded, deep fried, topped with mozzarella, served with spaghetti bolognaise. Absolutely incredible. Was full to bursting when we left and was good value.
Totally recommend this place. I will be visiting again.
Just popped in when passing through Carlisle and this was a lucky find. The service was super friendly and quick and the sea bass with saffron risotto was outstanding and nice and light. Highly recommend

Just had the most amazing pizza, fabulous thin and crispy crust with just the right amount of topping (I had the Napoli and my brother the Bolognese) followed by tiramisu which was light and delicious. Finished with a well made Tia Maria coffee. It was busy with a big party but still had great service. Highly recommended 😋😋😋
The food was gorgeous I had the cheesy garlic bread starter followed by lobster ravioli which I would highly recommend. The service wa ls spot in as well, given plenty time to consider menu, order drinks etc music was a little loud for my taste but even on a Tuesday relatively busy
