Food was very very good, staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive while eating.
Seems a popular pub as it was busy, and not just folk eating which is still good to see.
Looking forward to our next visit.
Food was alright. Wasn't bad but wasn't amazing either. Not sure why it's rated so highly. Lamb was nice but wasn't much added flavour. Gravy could have add more taste. Ham special was ham out of a tin which was stone cold and had jelly on
Although slightly expensive, the food was ok. Lamb was a bit tough and didn't fall off the bone as stated, however everything else was fine. It was hectic when we arrived but the staff were friendly and dealt with it the best they could.
The wainwrights ale was bang on and they made a good brandy co
Such a lovely pub. The staff very attentive, relaxed atmosphere. The food mouth watering, Geordie Boms were a first and very nice. The food is obviously home made and to a very high standard. Will be back
Found the perfect spot to stop on our journey from Scotland to Manchester. It was only 5 mins from the M6, we got a lovely meal & the kids could run off some steam in a picturesque country setting.
Had Sunday lunch last week, pub felt cold where we were sat, food was lovely only negative was the cauliflower cheese was not very hot, but it was very tasty.
Last minute find to stop overnight and boy what a find!!!! 😍 Great pint (much needed after 8 hour drive!!) Food was absolutely spanking!!! (Such a shame we just couldn’t finish it.) Staff were all so friendly and helpful. I’ve never done an online review but this was just so lush…would definitely re
Wonderful meal of sea bass, crab cake (full of crab) and battered prawns very filling, along with a wild boar pie that was full of meat. Excellent value for money.
Perfect in every way. Great portions, value for money and very polite, helpful and attentive staff
The best pub food I've eaten in ages. Lovely location and Mark the publican knows his job.
