Have been here twice in recent times. Once for the a la carte, and once for the Tom Peters X Tom Simmons tasting menu. Both times I was beyond impressed with the food and very slick service. FoH were attentive but not overbearing, kept drinks topped up and made our visits very comfortable. Be back soon

Full of goodness. I haven't enjoyed eating out as much for a while. The food was delicious. Flavours that blended perfectly. Who knew smoked haddock worked so well with sweetcorn? (You did, didn't you?) A clean, smart, spacious-feeling place. I was prepared for a stuffy or sniffy vibe but was wrong - friendly, relaxed and warm. Rosita looked after us so well. Anything on the menu we wanted to know about was explained. We did not feel any pressure about anything so relaxed and loved the whole thing. Negatives? Nope. Parking is always a pain in Pontcanna, so perhaps sort a lift or a cab or even walk. However you do it, get here! It quite rightly didn't cost two pounds seventy for anything. I think it was worth it. Looking forward to returning for the fish and chips... although calling "Tom's Chips" merely chips does them a disservice - they're layered potato cooked, cut and fried to perfection. Hat off to the other Tom in the kitchen, who the chips are named after. This place deserves all the attention it's getting.

Fantastic venue and fabulous food for a birthday treat. The Pate is out of this world, by far the best I've had, with the amazing sourdough bread.

Super weekend lunch at Thomas. Relaxed service and beautifully presented, delicious food. Loved the cured salmon. Dessert and cheeses also fantastic.

So glad I booked here for my boyfriends birthday, the whole experience was incredible. Service, food and drinks were 10/10! Also happy we booked an early table as we were able to enjoy some drinks before and after food at the bar too! Thank you 😊

We are doing 12 restaurants in 12 months on the run up to my wife's 50th this coming December and for her 50th we will review all the visited restaurants and choose what we think is the best to visit for her 50th... ( so far this is top) .This is our 3rd restaurant so far, after starting at the Walnut tree just outside Abergavenny.... for me the food here is the best we have had so far, so well presented and the tastes are out if this world... great service from the staff, with excellent knowledge of the food. Fast polite service... all of this has earned a 5 star rating from me...

Had one of the most delicious lunches ever today! 10/10 for all courses. Each course so unbelievably tasty and moreish. The celeriac main course was spectacular, even as a meat eater. Wish I could eat there every day!!!

Thomas was our first real dining experience in Cardiff since moving from Cape Town, and it definitely didn't disappoint! My wife and I were blown away from the minute we walked in, until the last delectable bite. The service was world class, with friendly and relatable staff. It was fine dining, but in a cosy atmosphere. Our servers Izzy and Rosalie were just perfect examples of what flawless actually means. Every bit of the food took us on a journey of sensations, with a perfect combination of textures and sublime balance of flavours. It's almost impossible to put it into words. Truly magical.

I had a really nice experience at Thomas. Solo traveller visiting from Toronto. Pros were the interior (lovely!), presentation of the food and excellent cocktails (the house martini was probably one of the best drinks I've had). Service was very friendly. My only feedback is that it felt as though Cardiff in general is 'catching up' a little bit when it comes to finer dining when compared to a NYC/Toronto/London (makes sense, given the size and scale of those cities). The lighting was too bright for a Saturday evening, the music felt too "elevator"-esque and service felt overly formal. However, that didn't take away from the delicious food and I still had a great time! The fish was a standout for me, as was the opening sourdough but I have a well-established bread obsession so I can't entirely be trusted here (ha). Thanks, Thomas!

Best I've had in Cardiff - will definitely go again once the menu changes.
