Massive restaurant/bar spread out over 2 floors located in a historic building that once was a theater. The theater boxes are still present and one view upstairs has you looking at what looks like theater seating although is just decoration. There is plenty of options on the menu and all well priced as well as inexpensive drinks. I can see why it is so popular any day of the week. Currently there is construction taking place inside the building although only visible from the outside of the restaurant.
Visited on a Sunday lunch time. Firstly the building itself is stunning. Very large old theatre. The place was fairly quiet but was a sunny day. Easily found a table and ordered via the app. Food came out quickly as did the drinks. Did not visit the toilets. Ok as weatherspoons go. Place was tidy and clean. Great central location.
Excellent food and service. It's always over crowded on weekends. You get money's worth here. Lot of beer and cocktail choices. Originally it was an opera Theatre. Now converted in to a pub. Neet and clean pub.
Great place, great atmosphere, big screens for the sports asking with good table service.
Staff always happy to help.
Cheap but good food and drinks in an interesting place. Bar tenders are friendly and chatty. The only thing the bugs me going here is I seem to have to work a good bit. Bus and wipe down my own table, hunt for a napkin and condiments...
An amazing atmosphere due to the venue previously being a musical theatre. A great view from a massive window which customers can sit next to. Service was slow, but possibly because it was a match day. Food was not of the best quality.
It's great to see another old building saved. The food was good, so was the wine and the prices the best.
(The food menu seemed limited. I need to check another Spoons to see if this was just the Prince of Wales' menu or whether it is the same everywhere.)
Get what you pay for. Reliable, quick, easy to eat and order food. Price is great.
Love this particular spoons because of the history and decor and you can always get served quickly, a pub you can drink alone and feel safe,
Incredible pub in the heart of Cardiff. This former theatre offers very good food, great beer, and most of all, ambiance and location. Service was not exceptional, which I attribute to the amount of people waiting to be served. A matter of a bit of patience. However, just visiting it is a rewarding experience. When in Cardiff, Wales, go for it!
