a great bar in the heart of Cardiff. Staff are friendly, food is tasty, and prices are good. The manager was super friendly and gave us good tips on what to do in the city: fully recommend
Popped in yesterday for a quick bite to eat before the theatre. Fast and friendly service and food was great. Nice atmosphere in there. Will be back next time I see a show
I can’t fault Yates it’s a good value for money restaurant. I work close by and they have good deals on at lunch. I’ve had the smothered chicken and the bbq chicken wrap both were good and decent portions
Like a upmarket Wetherspoons. Watch out for the meals with drinks deals, they only include soft drinks and you have to pay extra for alcoholic. Food good value for money, staff friendly and helpful.
This place actually saved our game day... Our 1st attempt for lunch fell through... Which pretty much dampened our mood (everywhere was packed).. we were about to give up on lunch. Chance would have it.. we came on the the Yates! They welcomed us and ensured a nice lunch Thank you Yates !
Great value meal. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Lovely chilled laid back atmosphere.
Had a wonderful experience here. The bar staff are always happy to help and offer expertise on unfamiliar beverages. Cannot wait to organise my next night out!
OK for a chain venue although let down by the lack of bar staff. I did not try the food here so cannot comment on that. They have a good range of beers they seem to be well kept. I might have to go to another bar if I want another drink. There are only two bar staff gor a 15m bar. At the moment four
During a visit to Cardiff decided to stop here for a bite to eat. The menu seems varied with lots of deals. We went for two burger meals for £8.45 which seemed exceptional value. The tables were spaced evenly with a quiet calm atmosphere. Large bar with a vast range of choice. Enjoyed my meal which
Had a great laugh I'm 50 plus but my colleagues are a lot younger. Not judgmental at all.
Nice quiet bar in middle of Cardiff. 10pm on a Saturday and was not heaving. Nice change for a city centre bar
Quality Service, Very friendly & helpful staff - clean tidy & spacious venue - great range of food and drink on offer also reasonable prices too - plenty of Covid-19 guidance & information clearly visible variety of screens for various sports etc - help given when needed
Stopped off on the way to the New Theatre for a drink and ended up having a sharer platter. It was reasonably priced, a good quantity and very nice tasting. Place was quiet but was a Monday early evening.
Don't remember being in here, but I enjoyed every minute that I was in Cardiff, so I'm confident it was great 👍👍 I have now checked my online banking and I spent £35 here so I guess I did like it here 😀
Dropped in with our daughter on saturday the27 th jan And enjoyed a very well cooked meal service so good and atmosphere was buzzing ( I since understand people were having a drink before going to local theatre The two outstanding members of staff being Ian and Callum a credit to their employers
The meal i had was really nice. The staff where very pleasant but rushed off their feet. I would definitely recommend this place. And will be going there again.
Food was nice and the drinks were average, the price was about what you would expect for Cardiff.
Really enjoyed the vibe, very attentive staff and great food. Will definitely come again next time I am in Cardiff.
First time in here but was ok and got served quickly. Food was lovely and staff were very polite.
