Extremely busy McDonald's in Cardiff Bay. Recently had a refurbishment so inside and out is in good condition. Food was fine as was the service. Inside was clean and tidy.
It’s another McDonald’s so the layout is similar, even the toilets are along the same lines. Thank heavens they were clean.
However, when we were there (on a Saturday evening) the staff struggled to cope. But despite the rush, they maintained their composure and politeness. But the fries we got were without salt and the burgers “appeared” stale - crumbling easily and that’s not what McDonald’s burgers are like.
Table service was disabled for some reason (I assume because of the rush!) and the receipt-roll of paper was exhausted in three machines.
I guess this is nitpicking but that’s what these reviews are - the blunt truth.

One of the best in cardiff..spotlezzly clean great staff and always milkshakes . Cnt help people rhou some let their kids run riot lets rember its a food place not playground staff should tell them and parents need tosort themselves out but this probly still the bezt one ...
The service at drive through was fine. No order issues. The food itself was subpar but then again I didn't expect a 3 star taster menu. Chips were ideal, not to salty. The burgers were of usual visual appeal and look nothing like the photos or adds. Not enough source in burgers is all I can say. Kids gave it a thumbs up- although they did say that we should stick to packed lunches as we normally do.
A very busy place but always a good atmosphere and food is good.
Unfortunatly the burgers seem not hot and taste has changed since before. Normally get an out of date apple pie these days as well. Changed to chicken options these days.
Went to mc dons down the bay .asked for a wrap with no bacon..And on the box it says no Bacon. But when you start to eat WOW there's Bacon inside ..check your Wraps .
Food was hot service was polite. Drive through collection had to park and wait 10 mins .
Amazing my favourite mcdonalds
Everything is positive about it for me - tonight, especially, even its location is. Clutch. Good job. McCrispy taste stupendous.

Service in drive through definitely seems to be getting better with less mistakes made
Food was great like all McDonald's, but my only issue was waiting times. I ordered my food for dine in, and only got it after around 30 minutes, which I don't expect from a big company like McDonald's. They had the cool little tablet thingys for the kids that kept them busy along with the little cards from their happy meals. Great food, great experience, not too expensive, but kind of bad waits.
Late night visit for me as had the munchies and needed some salty chips. Ended up ordering a side of cheesy nacho bites as well given that they were on the menu at the time.
Went inside for the food, was met by a greeter who asked me to scan their barcode for track and trace. Their own is mandatory, the NHS one optional. Quick to do, no problems with that. She was a nice lady as well, I'd not visited a McDonald's for a long time so she explained the table service situation and gave me the placard thing with the table number to order with. Ordered using the self service screens, easy to use and input your table number at the end for someone to come and find you with the food.
Food was usual McDonald's standard, nothing really much else to see. I wanted salty chips and I got them! Can't say I thought much of the cheesy nacho bites, very soft and greasy. I've preferred other cheese bites they've had on the menu previously. All very simple in processes though, 5 stars because of the nice woman on the door.
