Love this little place in the centre of Cardiff. Quirky, colourful and cosy. Great place for an intimate get together whether it be food, party or gig! Good selection of drinks too!

It's tucked away so not too crowded early evening. Great choice of drinks, friendly bar staff, super atmosphere. We'll be back for sure.

The place to be! A cute little venue, maybe even a little quirky attracting a young, arty, trendy crowd and offering cheap drinks and live entertainment - including music from DJs, bands and individual musicians, and even spoken word evenings and indie film screenings. A homely, friendly place where the staff are part of the party. Keep it up Gwdihw!

Attended one of Gwdihw's last nights at end of January 2019, at least in its present location. It's a fun bar with a mix of music, an OK drink selection, reasonable prices and entry. The crowd was mainly young but with a range of ages, and the music included rappers, inspired DJing and a live band that came on after my bedtime. Sad for Cardiff to lose a solid venue and overall fun place.

Quite a nice place. Very small, so on a busy night it's packed. Been here more than a few times. Great selection of spirits, good selection on larger and a poor selection on ale. They have quite a large smoking area out the back equipped with heater's, seating and shelters. The staff are really friendly. And you'll also see a stage because on regular intervals they will have live bands playing there.

Been going here for 10 years, it's right up there as one of Cardiff 's best venues and the breeding ground for emerging excellence.

Cozy little place with a good crowd. A little tight for a band to play, but good energy anyway.

Funky and eclectic bar what more can you say! Hosts loads of nights such as funk and soul with lots of live bands. Does get very busy as it's quite a small venue but the atmosphere is great and chilled

Nice alternative music/lounge pub in the centre of Cardiff. Has some decent different drink choices. Its got alternative comfy seating, the outdoor drinking area is a bit confined. Location wise its only a few minutes from Cardiff central so its not a bad option.

The Gwdihw is a small venue that hits way above its weight; hosting lots of great bands and events. It seems to attract a friendly crowd and there's a good relaxed feel to the place. The drinks are good and not pricy. Well worth a visit.

A welcome relief from all the chains in Cardiff. Gwdihw hasn't changed much over the years but the staff are still friendly, the venue itself is great and the beers are good. Lovely little beer garden out the back too

Gwdihw is a great little bar, hidden away just a 2 minutes walk from the Motorpoint Arena. It has a good selection of local beers, served in a quirky, unique environment. It's cosy, small, snug and very fashionable. Plus, with regular live music and late opening times, this really is a great bar! A must for people visiting the city, looking for an intimate but lively night out.

best venue in cardiff for gigs and discover new talent. has a cosy beer garden too and soft drinks on tap. only downside for me is that ladies' toilets are for some reason upstairs and it gets chilly to walk through the entrance

Another place where the intangible vibes are its main strength. Relaxed, cool, alternative to the 'trendy' Cardiff identikit bars. Keep an eye out for their gigs where they regularly book in excellent acts that wouldn't otherwise come to the city of Cardiff.

Gwdihw is a very chill bar with awesome live music on pretty regularly and a comfy bear garden. It great for a gig night but its just as nice with the live music, the play mellow music and bring out the bean bags.

A really friendly place to have a drink and enjoy some music. There's good outdoor space when the sun comes out, and there's live music pretty much every night.

Good place to see independent music but sitting space is limited indoors, especially for comedy evenings. Other than that gwdihw is a gem and always a really cool place to go.

A really nice, warm & friendly, bar and music venue that does small eats. Great atmosphere when it's got a few people in at the weekends.
