Don't understand the negative reviews! Have eaten here regularly for last 16 years. Food always good, cosy pub atmosphere and seating. Varied menu and staff pleasant and helpful. The food is served all day, which is great for those of us who often eat outside regular meal times � Lovely fire was burning in the fireplace when we had lunch there yesterday and we really enjoyed our meal �

had a 3 course meal here last night, not been here for a while as wasn't impressed in the past, having said that the service we received was second to none, the food was outstanding and value for money, will deffo be returning

Ordering took a while each time,but once order was taken,the food & drinks arrived quickly.
We did book days in advance. Only 4 of us,but the table wasn't ready so had a little wait.
They may need more staff to take orders? or the current staff need to be quicker.?
Overall though .the friendliness of the staff,the high quality & speed of the food ,the whole place & atmosphere feeling warm,cosy & accommodating FAR over powered the negatives.
So glad we finally visited Castell Mynach as the food was absolutely stunning. Beautifully cooked mains of steak and lamb and the starters were perfection. And reasonably priced especially for Valentine’s Day. Lovely friendly staff, Lola the barmaid was friendly and hats off to the chefs Ben and Matt. We will be back.
Turned up last minute on a Saturday night and the manager Ben kept the kitchen open to make me food and it made my Saturday night! Incredible burger, loads of chips, excellent service. Can't recommend enough
Had a very satisfying meal. Prompt friendly service by knowledgeable staff. Can recommend the Cali pale ale, which was fresh and crisp. Had the lamb duo which was delicious followed by the honey pot dessert that tastes as sweet as it looks! The quality was surprisingly good for the very reasonable prices. We had some last minute delays in our travel plans and were pleasantly surprised when we found this lovely place.
Just here for a couple of days and thought we would try this restaurant. Absolutely loved it. The service was excellent the food equally so. When you add to this the very pleasant atmosphere and staff what isn't to like. Special shout out for Hannah, who was so superb in her attitude and eagerness to provide a great service. She really made our night a special occasion. Thank you.
Had fish cakes and pate to start and my husband had sticky chicken and fish and chips. It was delicious. Service was good too. Nice place not cheap.
From the moment we stepped into the Restaurant, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for a truly remarkable dining experience. The service was nothing short of excellent, with team that were attentive, efficient, and genuinely caring about our needs and comfort throughout our visit.
The highlight of our visit, without a doubt, was the fantastic Sunday roast, it was perfectly cooked, seasoned to perfection, and accompanied by a selection of sides that complemented the main dish beautifully.
Adding to the overall charm of the afternoon was the wonderful ambiance of the restaurant.
The surprise that won our hearts of our younger guests was the Easter hunt with a prize being a special chocolate treat from the Manager. This thoughtful gesture not only made the day memorable for the children but also allowed the adults to relax.

Not been a good few years. Went Easter Sunday with family and dog. All welcome especially the dog. They have a dog menu and she had a great steak and mash with gravy. Fantastic addition to have. Food was great and plenty of it. Will visit again. Thanks to all staff

Absolutely gorgeous food for a very reasonable price -3 courses for £20 at lunchtime. The portions were generous, beautifully presented and very tasty. There were vegan and vegetarian options and the arancini starter was to die for. The service was great, the food arrived very promptly and everyone was delighted with it. Very dog friendly, they even have a doggie menu and I can't wait to come back with my dogs in the Summer. Would thoroughly recommend.
What a magic place. Both for having drinks and good conversation in comfy armchairs or for a great dinner in a cozy very special atmosphere. Fancy cuisine or just profane fish and chips - but in perfection! And very nice and helping waiters and chef. I fell in love with this place at once. And I definitely want to come here again.
Good options for vegans. Staff were lovely, it was busy and clearly popular. Food was incredible and it was nicely decorated too!
Good value for money, I had a soft drink, small wine, starter and main and was ~£25 and my sister had more expensive main and starter with a soft drink for £30.
Busy road to cross with little pavement if you come from Miskin Manor but really lovely place!
Had a great first experience of the Castell Mynach today. My partner and I visited for Sunday lunch and were served by Josh. Excellent service, delicious food and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.

What a great place this has turned into. Having not been there for a few years. Must say we were all well impressed. We've now been multiple times recently as we enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We haven't had a bad meal yet. The prices are reasonable too.
The Staff were very welcoming and were helpful suggesting some alternatives for those with dietary requirements. Nicely Attentive but not pushy and we didn't feel rushed out like some restaurants.
We've experienced a relaxed Mid-week lunchtime and a very busy Sunday Roast. Can't fault any of the food we've had there, has all been delicious. Highly recommend.
