Our Twentieth wedding anniversary yesterday, honestly the staff were amazing, we were spoilt rotten. Food was out of this world... we’ve visited this pub in the past and it’s just been ok! Think there has been a change in the kitchen...food was beautiful, just gorgeous... staff made us feel so special... a special thankyou to the lady behind the bar ... will definitely recommend to all... 5 stars from us x

Have been coming to this place for years. Whether it be for a drink or a nice meal, I always enjoy a warm welcome, great food and cozy atmosphere. It was the perfect place to come for our Christmas meal with friends, with a sumptuous festive menu and the open fire burning!

Food is top notch. Atmosphere is wonderful. Love this pub. Love the interior of the pub. The feel about the place is old and homely and I like how it is sectioned into little areas where you can have a little privacy if you want to. Love the historical antique feel about the place. The lagers are superb also. Haven't sampled the ales but I'm sure they're just as good.

"Place to Go 'n eat" when around the Museum of Welsh life. Very good Lunch Menü incl. "of the day". Huge parking in back (don't forget to Register). Cozy interior incl. Bar and (all day) fireplace. - Famous sunday roast recommend by "the locals" - which we couldn't try. Service expected to be better than our 3* rating - BUS_y day ;( !Almost forgot to mention the lovely Beergarden in the back - of course for better days only;) (See Pics)

It's the best Sunday roast I've ever had.. I went for the slow cooked pork belly, and it was absolutely delicious.. the meat was simply just melting in my mouth, the crackling was crispy, the Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, and vegetables were as good as you could expect from a proper restaurant. No complaints at all from me. Hubby had fillet sea bass and king prawns, served with baby potatoes, peas, broccoli, and a creamy white wine sauce and he was content with everything. Definitely will be my go-to place for Sunday roast.

One thing that lives rent free in my head was the scene in one of the episodes in ‘Come Dine with Me’, where the host fully shoves the entire whisk in his mouth, sucking the chocolate out of it. Then used that said whisk to continue mixing the batter. I will never go for a meal in that contestant’s house but I will gladly stay for a meal in the Plymouth Arms. Their three meat roast is not quite to shout for (especially with what you are paying) but what they knocked out of the park is their all day menu, add that with their posh sauces, dedicated staff and you got yourself a banger of a meal and an experience that will live rent free in your head.

Fantastic meal! Our waitress was Lily, she could not have been more helpful and friendly. She recommended the pavlova which was huge and really good! Really nice atmosphere and the passion fruit martini is a must have! Will definitely be coming back!

Lovely beer garden and a varied menu. This place is hidden in the heart of St Fagans and is worth a visit, especially on a summer's day. The garden is lovely, with plenty of space, and the food and drink menu has something to offer for everyone . We got away without booking a table, but I can imagine it gets busy on occasion. The restaurant inside looked lovely, too. A nice setting for an evening meal with friends and family.

We went for lunch today for my son's birthday. Lovely atmosphere - very cosy and inviting. Menu had excellent choices to suit all tastes. The Moroccan Chicken skewer and Garlic Lamb skewer we very tasty and well presented. Large car park at the back. For a Tuesday lunchtime we were surprised to see how busy it was but once we had food we understood why. Staff very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Madi was so lovely! Cheerful and helpful; despite being rushed off her feet she was so kind, credit to the place!

Me and my husband came to eat on Friday, and we were monumentally impressed with not only the pub, but the real star of the show that day, was Nadia. Nadia was thoughtful, attentive and far exceeded the expectations we'd have. We felt a tremendous duty of care of not only her hospitality, but her camaraderie stood out unrivalled. We made note of her reception towards regulars who seemingly come in often and the warmth which she was able to show them. Nadia has left an impression on me that would make me come back, without hesitation. The quality of the food, plus Nadia's exceptional levels of service, gives me absolute pleasure in rating my experience as five stars. We will most definitely come back.

Nice little pub/restaurant in historic surroundings on the outskirts of Cardiff, varied menu , huge beer garden, dog friendly too , first visit here and decided on the foresti're chicken breast, was baked in a small pan and covered in streaky bacon , wild mushrooms in a garlic sauce with skin on fries . For dessert we went for the bramley apple , blackcurrant and cherry crumble with creamy custard . If you like your history and a nice meal to follow up then this is the place for you 👍

We visit the Plymouth arms regularly as it's our favourite place for a quiet drink and tasty meal. The staff are amazing and always make us feel so welcome. It was nice to be able to sit in the beer garden as it was a sunny day.

So this was our second visit - this time to enjoy a Sunday roast. She had the vegetarian option which was a candied roast consisting of rice, beetroot and seeds. I had the pork belly. Both dishes came with a generous medley of roasted and steamed vegetables. Despite the large plates of food I thought the serving of pork was undersized for the price. Having said that the service was faultless and the atmosphere very warm and agreeable. A charming place to have Sunday dinner.

What a lovely pub so welcoming and comfortable. From the start we were looked after by the staff ...lovely quiet table beautifully set with glassware and cutlery. Our waiter was so attentive (I'm so sorry I didn't get his name) and really made sure one of our group who is dairy and gluten intolerant was really cared for. Meals were amazing...freshly cooked and good portion sizes. We were never under pressure to order or leave. Highly recommend

The food was delicious and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Everything was first class and the service was excellent. Our waitress, Maddie, couldn’t do enough for us and explained everything when we queried anything. The festive menu was delightful and the T-bone steaks were stunning. The Christmas decorations throughout were beautiful and the atmosphere was warm and cosy. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Look forward to coming again very soon.

Came at today for a Friday lunch with colleagues. We had a selection of meals from across the menu all of which were cooked to perfection. Our server (brunette lady with a bun) was extremely helpful and enthusiastic, she even left us a cute note on the bill. Excellent parking available at the rear.

My first time in this pub and would 100% go back again! Our server Madi was very accommodating and quick to get our order in! She was very friendly and sweet. We didn’t have any cash but if we did we would have given a tip!
