The food was very tasty and affordable. We had an amazing waitress, named Pip. She was very friendly and checked in appropriately.
This is definitely a good place to get a nice evening meal!
Wonderful location in the Cardiff suburbs. Llandaff is reminiscent of a small English village with its collection of pubs, tea rooms and village green. Admittedly it is also home to an interesting (Anglican) cathedral.
We came across Llandaff by accident three years ago and said if we ever needed an overnight stay in Cardiff, then we'd try The Malsters Arms.
We were allocated the amazing room no.4 complete with its large freestanding bath. Be aware, this is a popular pub and with a reasonably sized car park to the rear you may have to deal with some noise outside.
The check-in process was simple and quick; and even though we showed up at 1pm our room was ready. A really friendly member of staff behind the bar helped us with bus times in to Cardiff city centre. The bus stop is across the road from the hotel, and then about 50 yards to your left; with the no.63 taking about twenty minutes. An Uber back from the Cardiff University cost us slightly under £10.
There were plenty of people eating in the pub at close to 6pm when we went out. Bar prices were reasonable and although we didn't see any during our overnight stay, this is definitely a dog-friendly pub.
Absolutely fantastic. Finally a decent pub with decent food!!!!
We hadn't booked but they managed to fit us in and we happily shared a table with another pair who also were looking to eat.
The pub was really busy not a spare table or seat in the building. Nevertheless the service was fantastic - quick, attentive and friendly. The menu and food was lovely, came out fast and hot, with lovely presentation. The setting was clean throughout and ample space between the tables. The atmosphere was also fab.
