Beautiful interior, clean and smart. The staff are very attentive. We ordered starter and mains, the helpings are plenty and the great thing is if you cannot eat it all you can take it with you. My husband and I were very impressed and will definitely come back again

Classic Indian dine-in and takeaway with friendly, efficient service and not overly complicated menu. Food was excellent; not fancy, just good quality BIR stuff done well. Very fairly priced. Limited wine selection but the house stuff is ok at £11 a bottle…A great local curry house

Personable service. A few tables were occupied on a Tuesday. Always a good thing. I did feel my pupadoms were soft. Though there was a nice chutney collection. The Halloumi Starter of cheese and honey was delicious. The main course of beef was nice and the coconut rice lovely. Reccommended

Good menu to choose from, the starters were very large, very nice mains and sides. Only Cobra, Bangla etc to choose from - no beers. Advisable to book as always busy

Incredible food, great service despite being very busy. The best Indian I've had in a long time, definitely the best in Cardiff. Looking forward to coming back!

Fantastic curry, I would place this high on my list for best in Cardiff. The venue itself has a nice modern vibe with staff friendly and helpful.

Mowgli's Whitchurch has opened recently and seems to have kept to the high standards of the original Mowgli's on City Road. The setting is comfortable and the food is excellent, better than any other Indian I have tried in Cardiff. We began with the Poppadom with chutney – the Lime Chutney was wonderful and the chopped onions form a crisp basis for this pre-starter. We opted for the three starters to share for two and went with Tandoori Lamp Chops, Tandoori Ostrich and Butterfly King Prawn - each of these had their clear distinctive flavours with the Tandoored items being smoky in flavour and the breadcrumbs on the huge prawn being light and crispy. For Mains I had a Beef Achari Madras, which was rich, with tender pieces of meat and wonderful citrus flavour with chilli hear. My partner had Lamb Hyderabad Special with ginger and a chilli tang still allowing the quality of the lamb to shine through. We eat Pilau Rice and Garlic Nan with this. Overall the meal was yummy. A nice chilli heat in both of the mains, but with good quality meat and rich flavours which remained distinctive, not something that could be said of all Indian restaurants. Lovely, we will be back.
