Fab night, staff reserved a large table as promised for us all. Good selection of food and drink which was gorgeous I may add. Lovely friendly atmosphere and clearly a very popular pub!! Well done The Lansdowne Team!!!😁😁😁
Love this place!!! Wonderful food, very attentive and courteous staff and great family atmosphere. Spent a very enjoyable couple of hours here on a Sunday afternoon and I highly recommend the roast pork belly!!!
Lovely pub great atmosphere warm and friendly staff, great choice of well kept beers, plus delicious food, five stars, i,m hoping they do Christmas lunch.
Friendly staff and excellent food
See some old friends
Great friendly pub with good selection of ale and food. Had another enjoyable day at the annual beer festival. Cheers!
Always very welcoming with great ales and food. They were very accomadating of a large group for my special birthday lunch.
Great people, great food, good beer and reasonably priced.
Great beer, friendly staff and dogs welcome. What more do you need? Fantastic place.
Great food and choice of beer. Great service and atmosphere.
Best Sunday Lunch in Cardiff and a great local pub feel so you can be comfortable staying all day
Booked sunday lunch for my birthday
Meal lovely but have to say quite expensive for a roast. Shame table only had a 2 hour slot
Beautiful home cooked food, even better cider!!
Always a pleasure! Lovely food. Very lucky to have this as our local.
No beer tonight but nice bottle of rose between us. Flat iron steak was superb as good as le monde last week. Nice local boozer and dog friendly.
The new Lansdowne menu is a bold and necessary departure from the ribs and briskets served up by the Hangfire girls, and most definitely a smart move. Hundreds of new customers were introduced to the warm and friendly staff at this cosy, quirky pub as a result of the BBQ legends residency, but now it is time for both parties to move on and continue forging their own separate identities. With The Lansdowne’s impressive beer selection having earned it the title of CAMRA’s ‘Cardiff Pub of the Year’ for 2014 and the new menu looking to encompass dishes that will regularly change with the seasons, there really is no better time to check out (or continue supporting) this little Canton gem.
A long way out of town but fairly close to the Cardiff City stadium. And it was worth it. Lovely friendly pub. Loads of real ales. I found some Bombardier again!! It was empty when I walked in but packed an hour later with not enough staff!! Why on earth don't they pay extra staff, organise themselves and get a bumper Boxing day pay out !! After all January won't be busy. It really isn't rocket science. We gave up queuing in the end and went to the Stadium. They really are missing a trick with 3k away fans....considering it is such a lovely unique place...
Amazing staff and great food, big fan of the quiz and the Sunday lunch in second to none. Very impressive selection of beers with 3/4 on at any one time. Top marks!
Popped in for the quiz with my dog. Good quiz, variety of questions for all ages. Well written.
The food was amazing. Had the bacon cheese burger, came with a huge portion of chips. The burger was homemade, best burger in Cardiff and only £12.
Dog friendly, good selection of drinks, friendly staff.
This was the most epic Sunday roast I can remember. I normally cook a roast at home and think the average carvery in many places is a bit mediocre, but the Lansdowne was utterly fantastic. Not just the meat, but the towering Yorkshire pudding, the beautiful vegetables, the tasty gravy and the splendid roast potatoes. We all agreed we'd look forward to our next visit.
The service was friendly and the range of drinks was great too.
I highly recommend a visit...
Famous Cardiff Pub, in the Canton Markets area, once used by the many rail and postal workers. Sympathetically redeveloped, with apartments. Independant, great staff, cask ales, carbonara style pasta bake was awesome. Friendly locals too, darts and a piano !. Worth a visit , rail and bus easy reach." Current Thing " pub of all ages.Enjoyed my visits.
Great pub. Friendly atmosphere with lovely staff. The food is great and reasonably priced for the quality. I love the burgers. I really recommend it. It has a really 'old school' pub vibe with lots of different beer mats decorating the bar. The layout is arranged so there are intimate little corners for a quiet date or large tables in the back room for a large group of friends. Would really recommend.
Called in before going to the match. Surprisingly nicely decorated and spacious inside, despite the outside appearance of the building. Friendly bar staff who welcome away fans!
The food here is *really good* I can recommend the flat iron steak with green sauce.
Good atmosphere, an open mic music on first and last Tuesday. Pretty minimal uncomplicated decor but manages to feel cosy.
Not accessible that I can tell. They might have a ramp if you ask.
Amazing, welcomes dogs, super friendly staff and clientele, great selection of drinks recommend their burger night.
Haven't been here for 20 years or so (25 miles away & a little off the beaten track - train to Cardiff & train to Ninian Park + 10 min walk - but worth it!) Focus on real ale (from the number of pump clips, a lot of real ale has passed through the pumps). Turned up for the annual beer festival early Friday afternoon (16/6/17) but festival doesn't start until 17.00, however, 5 ales on the bar all excellent. Didn't eat but food looked & smelt wonderful? (Will try on next visit). 15/8/17. 3 pm. Well here again as promised, very quiet, one man and his dog . . . . Ok, no dog, but amazing, complete change of ales since last visit - all good. Only downside - quite clicky.
Made very welcome by the staff and regulars on my 1st visit to this pub. Excellent choice of real ales and craft beers and a good choice of food on the menu.
Lovely homely place! Was there on a rugby day and it was a really lovely atmosphere. They reserved tables for us in advance and they’re dog friendly! Good prices and lots of ales if you’re into that!
An excellent local pub, very popular with a wide range of local people and visitors alike. Sells renowned craft beers from popular breweries. I don't like craft beer I like traditional British & European beers but the pub also has decent lagers and usually one or two more traditional ales. Also premium spirits. Very busy with high quality food. The pub is expensive - think gastro pub restaurant prices - but it is a friendly relaxed very good British pub experience.
Nice community pub friendly staff quick service food good. Same friendly staff good service only difference is that the dried hops above the bar have gone
The food is really nice and reasonable, the staff are very friendly and courteous. The only negative I have is the seating is really uncomfortable. The wooden benches could destroy the strongest of backs!
Cant be happier with the service and food. Good value for money and they clearly maintain their lines properly at the bar as the beer was delicious.
ordered a burger which was tasty and filling, the bun was a bit big for the burger patty would be my only criticism, a smashed patty probably would have worked better but the flavour was good and it was good quality. Nice big sociable tables and dog friendly, quite spacious actually. Had a great time!
The Lansdowne is 5-star every time! A good range of independent ales- always in great nick, a lovely community atmosphere and a characterful interior. I am always surprised by the high quality of the pub meals. One of the very best pubs about on any level, really!
Parking is rubbish though 🙂
