400 miles roundtrip is just a bit over the top. But I'd happyly drive it Sunday mornings for rolls and pastry, if it were at all possible.

Cardiff is so lucky to home a cafe and bakery like this. Happy staff with a beautiful and authentic passion for baking and making sure that people enjoy their coffee/cake/breads. I love this place.

We're in love - came Friday & were back for breakfast this morning! Thank you for providing us with such a cool place to hang out & educating us on what a real danish pastry is!! Delicious. Staff were all great - it was busy but one of the guys still took time out to come & give our little girl a beautiful bag of dolls to play with - so thoughtful, touched my mamas heart! thank you, we love the place you've created - be proud! Ok, I love this shop. The weinerbrød selection is fantastic and so tasty and the atmosphere is very lovely. The big test though was I brought my 70 year old Danish father in... He thought the place was great and he hasn't had such great rugbrød in years. Highly recommendable!

We had a great first visit today, the staff welcomed our two little boys with a choice of either a bag of dinosaurs or soldiers - needless to say they were impressed! The presentation of our drinks and delicious sweet treats was given much care and attention and the yummies were served on a lovely wooden board. We loved the cafe interior and design and overall felt very welcome, it was like being at a good friends house. We will be back for more goodies and to try your bread next.

Yum! Cute little bakery on the outskirts of Cardiff, parking isn't great we found a side street. Let's of choice I couldn't pronounce any of the cakes, coffee delicious and the bakery products super tasty and fresh, well worth a visit. Cost us under £14 for two cakes and two coffees. Ps the toilet is amazing lol!

This is an elite bakery! In all my travels I love heading to a bakery to get myself a sweet or savoury treat, and this sits top of the pile. At this place I got both sweet and savoury due to the excellent selection on offer. I had a cinnamon swirl that was beautifully soft with delicious flavour of cinnamon and white icing. For the savoury treat I had a cheese and pepperoni swirl, that again was beautifully soft and packed with unbelievably good cheesy flavour. If you’re in Cardiff it’s well worth heading up to this part of town to grab something!

We came here today (02/09), as we had recieved a voucher as our engagement present. We had been on our honeymoon to Denmark, and we couldn't wait to visit and try out some Danish pastries again! The Creme Smegl was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend it. The cafe itself was a good size, with outdoor seating out front, and I think they had a courtyard too. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. It's a shame we live 90mins away, otherwise we'd be there every week! Phenomenal.

Lots of selection of coffees and teas cold drinks and pastries and fresh bread.a lovely eating experience with a cafe garden in the back as well. How highly recommended rustic would feel slight being in a Danish bakery. Highly recommended and the tasty treats are very nice as well.

I really like Brod - the range of pastries and breads is great, the staff have always been lovely. It's card payment only and I can remember finding the hours a little awkward in the past but I guess past a certain time there's no snacks! Sit outside only at the moment but there's a nice Halloween display in the window, and lots of Halloween themed sweets.

Been meaning to visit it for a while, and today it happened! As a group of three, we visited around about 1020. Inside, it has about ten 2 seat tables and was a bit busy. I was happy to just get a takeaway, however the server said they were happy for us to join two tables, which we did. Our order consisted of 2 tomat og oste snegl, one custard spandauer, one jam spandauer, one kanelstang, one Æble snegl, two pots of tea and a mocha. Food was served up quickly with the drinks following soon after. Food wise, my two snegls were flaky, full of flavour and lush! I was gutted though when I sampled some of the tomat og oste snegl, which was super moreish and the cheese was amazingly zingy. We spent a good 40 minutes in a very friendly and chilled place, and will be attending again to try more Danish pastries. I also bought three more tomat og oste snegl and a mad brød (pepperoni) to go. I'm so looking forward to trying these later!

I have just discovered Brod bakery off Newport Road and wished I'd known about it sooner. The gentleman (sorry I didn't get your name!) Was very helpful and knowledgeable. Lots of choice of sourdough bread and it's very fresh having been baked just a few hours before. Coffee was great and savoury cheese and marmite pastry was very tasty. Marmite was very subtle which worked well for breakfast! I've not eaten the sweet pastries yet so can't comment on taste but they look good. Pricewise it is more expensive than a trip to Greggs etc but it's a lot better quality and we should all be doing more to support smaller local businesses where possible.

Was walking through the suburbs of Cardiff for a place for breakfast and found a Danish bakery. Don't let the photograph of a half-eaten sandwich detract from the quality of the food, this place was amazing and great value for money. They had a very relaxed atmosphere, with places and chairs for children. Such a great bakery and one I would say is worth going out of your way to drop in and I look forward to visiting again.

Brød isn't really a hidden gem anymore, it's a shining jewel in the crown of Canton / Pontcanna's independent eateries. Can be really busy at peak times, but even if there are no seats you can always get a delicious pastry to take away. Both coffee and food here are excellent here, and it's just a really cool place to sit and have lunch.

A solid Danish bakery with good coffee, an assortment of pastries, breads, sandwiches etc. no service inside due to COVID which is understandable but the staff are friendly and genuinely happy to see you. They were patient with me while I chose from way too many good looking things. The Appel spiegel is highly recommended.

A very warm welcome on a rainy day. Went with a group of friends for a catch up. Fast service, varied menu we were all spoilt for choice. The place was spotlessly clean and the pastries were so delicious we ordered seconds. I loved the varied nationalities of the staff from Italian to Danish to Hungarian I think we identified. Regardless we felt thoroughly part of the something special there. Oh and the smell is divine ... Coffee and pastries. ... well recommended.
