Best place in Cardiff. We had an amazing time and the staff was stellar. Our waitress catered to our every need, she even danced with me and the kiddos. I highly recommend this to any person wanting good food and atmosphere for a night out
We went there today after Christmas shopping great atmosphere food was fabulous. We had the festive menu everything was great but mussels starter was outstanding.

Italian food is not my favourite. However I will be returning to this restaurant. Amazing food, the lasagne is the best I've had. The service is fantastic and so friendly. They really are a lovely family restaurant and it was a pleasure eating there. The Tiramisu was absolutely gorgeous and fresh. Would recommend to any one.

I can see why this beautiful little restaurant has been in business over 40 years- the food is superb. Lovely atmosphere and great service completes the evening out.
Food decent & service not bad. Only negatives are that place is pretty cramped when busy & music was so loud at times that you had to shout over your meal if you wanted a conversation, not ideal for a quiet date night
Lovely little restaurant in very convenient place. We stopped in Cardiff for some rest during our travelling and we were struggling to find something to eat late in the evening with all restaurants around refusing to serve us 1h before closing time. Only Giovanni's accepted us and we were very grateful for that after driving for over 10h. The food was very tasty and if we ever come back to Cardiff we will be having dinners here 👌
Have been to Giovannis a few times and the food has always been great. Really traditional Italian food, and great service.
The restaurant on the Hayes has an authentic feel - could possibly do with a little makeover but maybe that’s the vibe that the restaurant are trying to achieve. But the food and service are fantastic!
Without any doubt, one of the very best restaurants in Cardiff for food, service and atmosphere. Been to both the Hayes and Park Place, with the latter being slightly more my favourite. The best steak I and my friends have ever had. The food generally is truly excellent. For context, I would rate Giovanni's much higher than the Potted Pig.

My first time to Cardiff, Wales and Giovanni's was recommended by the lovely Carrie at front desk, Hilton Cardiff. After all, it was s girls trip for my birthday (25 May) and we wanted to celebrate in class.
Giovanni's exceeded our expectations.

The location was easy to find on The Hayes, just 8 minutes from our Hotel.
I appreciated the atmosphere - cozy, unpretentious. And the walls are filled with some of Giovanni's famous guests over the years. Being from the Caribbean, it was special to see a photo with cricketing greats George Best and Sir Viv Richards, taken back in the day.
My only negative was the pannacotta did not rank high. The strawberry glazing could simply have been a small offering of berry compote.
Nevertheless, I highly recommend Giovanni's!

Review from wheelchair user: Came all the way from England for the Lasagna and my word, it didn't disappoint. Quick service, great atmosphere, accommodating staff and the best Lasagna we have ever had! Not good if you hate lots of delicious cream sauce or lots of cheese. Garlic bread was three slices but I had already eaten one.
Even though there are 2 steps in, they have a ramp for wheelchair access. Please be aware, wheelchair toilet however there is a pub around the corner which has one if needed.

Upon arriving on a busy Saturday night we received a warm greeting and were promptly shown to our table.
The food and atmosphere was great, the food arrived piping hot all tasting authentic and delicious!
We had the lasagne and seafood special, with clean plates all around!
This place really has that little Italy feel factor, I do recommend!
We had lovely home cooked pre-Christmas lunch here today, thoroughly enjoyed it. Salmon fish cakes and Lasagne.
Wow... Absolutely wow. Best Italian I've ever been to if I'm honest. Food was perfect and service was amazing. Will definitely be going back when I return to Cardiff.
We were delayed getting there due to poor weather and this wasn't a problem. They advised to get there when we could and they'd have a table. The food didn't disappoint. Plenty of choice and very tasty. Good options for vegetarian diets and staff are very helpful. Would recommend!
Major thanks to Gennaro for absolutely making my night. This pizza is the closest I can get to the taste of home being 3000 miles away, and not in the direction from Italy! He treated me so well and really made me feel comfortable. I am in Cardiff for the next four years, have come many times before and will continue to come again. Can’t stop recommending this place!
