My boyfriend and I went for breakfast this morning and ordered an American breakfast (pancakes, eggs, bacon and maple syrup) and a veggie breakfast - both of which were delicious and very good value for money.
Over the visit several things happened that will ensure we go again and again. Although the coffee machine had broken, they were short staffed and full to capacity
1. we were still served very quickly
2. the owner still let a young boy have everything he ordered, even though he didn't have enough money without a second word and was very discrete
3. the owner noticed that a lady hadn't had a chance to eat her food cause she was feeding her baby so he took her food away and brought it back hot so she could enjoy it properly without her even asking - she was very grateful
4. the owner forgot a small milkshake for a large order and as soon as he realised he had forgotten automatically upgraded them to a large shake with an apology.
I imagine it was a very stressful hour or so for him but he didn't show it and the service was impeccable. All in all it was a great experience on a rainy Saturday and we would definitely recommend!
Took my twins Reggie and Ronny to LUVLY GRUB for their birthday meal and it didnt disappoint. The food was outstanding and the burgers were big enough for a small family to share 1 between them (but of course we didn't) The staff was very attentive, the place was spotless and The owner (the evil midget looking one) was very nice in deed so dont be put off lol. I recommend anyone to try this place, its cheap as chips, wonderful quality meals and the desserts will leave you speechless. Well done Luvly Grub. Top marks from me and mine ������������

Say it again… The Arthur Burger, wOw!
Beautifully cooked bacon to salivate to and a beef patty with both a flavour and a texture that teases your tongue, your teeth, your lips, to the next bite. The fries were good too, a spot on blend of crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. A burger with fries plus a refillable coffee is £7.20.
The Luvly Grub Cafe now ranks as my joint favourite burger destination in Cardiff.
As I walked away in a state of post meal bliss, down Moorland Road to my sister’s, I thought to myself I may be a Bay Boy these days, but if I still lived in Splott, I would now have a new regular (Ha, and it’s not even a pub!).

The first impression is that the Luvly Grub Cafe is easy to miss, but step inside and you're greeted by bright, clean and friendly surroundings. And then comes the food...
I munched me a cheese, mushroom and onion toastie with a re-fillabe cuppa coffee, priced at £4.10. (Mind though, mine was free, as my sister had won one of their draws - check them out on Facebook or Twitter) Not just a toastie, but what turned out to be a Lovly Grub toastie. All proper fillings on what is obviously purposely sourced bread and prepared with respect, it was almost a meal in itself. Another visit is now unavoidable, as I must return to gorge on one of their epic looking burgers.
Been today for 1st time must say staff very friendly and great service food was lush and hot had the Arthur burger was lush would recommend any one to go there great food great staff great prices
I Can't thank you enough for putting on an amazing bridal breakfast before my hen weekend . I would recommend this to anyone for any special occasion. The service and food was amazing ��
Visiting Cardiff from Wigan England at the weekend and we came for something to ,eat wow wow wow the food was abs gorgeous ,what a gem of a place � staff was very friendly and without a doubt we will be back on our next visit xx
This place is amazing! Lovely freshly cooked food, with a far more extensive menu than I would expect. The owner and staff are really helpful, clean tables and such good value. This really is a hidden gem for Cardiff. If you haven't yet sampled their delights pop along you won't be disappointed! Wish I could award more stars!
This is becoming a regular haunt of ours and yesterday the owner surpassed himself. My 12 week grandson was quite upset and despite being short staffed the owner took the time to come and offer to take my daughter's meal into the kitchen and warm it up when she was ready.
When she was he brought out a fresh meal and also brought over fresh tea for us all. Thank you so much for your kindness.
Well what can I say I had the Arthur burger my son had the Rooney one. Absolutely amazing. I am completely stuffed. These burgers were huge the chips were lovely too not a bit greasy. Very impressed and will be ordering again. You want a burger you won't go far wrong getting them from here. Great quality and a really decent price
First visit to this fab little place for lunch today. My daughter can't speak highly enough of the place and the guys who run it.
I ordered the Rooney Burger. Completely misread menu and didn't realise that the pulled pork was in the bun as well as a burger. I thought the pulled pork was the burger. Came with fries and home made coleslaw. Absolutely delicious and amazing value. Thank you. x

What a fab find!!!! Amazing food. Best burger ever. Staff really warm and friendly. If you have any room left after your burger, try the dessert waffles!! Heaven on a plate

Went here on Friday and had one of the best burgers of my life... the CF3 burger, with beef brisket and string onions on top of the smashed burger! So good! Well worth a visit. I'm definitely returning soon. PS I believe it's changed from what it used to be, now being more take away with some outside seating.
Staff are polite as can be,food is amazing,prices are amazingly cheap. Couldn't rate highly enough. Luvly grub deserves 10/10
Update: they have a burger van on the site I work on, and today they noticed I didn't have a warm hat to wear in the -6 cold. The lovely 2 people running the van bought me a hat to wear and didn't charge a penny.
First experienced luvly grub last Saturday and was so impressed with the food and the attitude of the owner that I brought my daughter today. Didn't disappoint. I had a baguette which was really nice but still preferred my breakfast, burger next to try.
Only one criticism, and not sure if much can be done about it, but really disappointed that a customer felt the need to smoke in the doorway. So glad we moved before they lit up a) because we were eating and b) because we had a new baby with us!
Nice clean, chef takes care in his food and presentation. The staff are friendly, a wide range of customers. Have to say it's one.of the best burgers I've had and the dirty fries were amazing. Nice selection of food on offer from breakfast, subs, salads and American BBQ fare. A pleasant surprise that to be honest I wouldn't expect in splott/ tremorfa but glad someone has instead of like everyone else going to city road area where no doubt they would've cleaned up.
This was my first trip to Luvly Grub and I will definitely be going again. The burgers were fantastic! The burger patty itself was full of flavour and a very generous size, salad was fresh and the whole burger had just the right amount of sauce. Very generous portion of fries and one of my friends upgraded to the dirty pizza fries which I recommend if you want to indulge. The milkshakes were also very tasty. I can't fault the food, service or value for money and can't wait to visit Luvly Grub again.
Great food served in spotless place. Staff are very nice and eager to please, nothing is too much trouble.
Oh yes and then there are the prices....excellent value for money. Will definitely be going back.
Wow. Just nailed a burger from this place. Wow. Just wow. Finally a burger joint that serves proper burgers! Thick, juicy, suculant! Sooooo good! Staff were really helpful on the phone and it arrived in 30 minutes! Beautiful! Roll on my next hangover! 🍔

Amazing food and service. You'd pay a fortune elsewhere for the size meals at Luvly Grub. Really impressed and will definitely be ordering food from there again. Really delicious food.
Quality. Best breakfast ive had in cardiff(and ive had a lot of breakfasts!) Very well priced, offer takeout, small place cooking my kinda food. Great addition to the area
