I visited this place slightly after lunch time (later than 1:30pm) but still the queue was quite long; waited like 15 minutes. However, it was so worth to try! I ordered no. 16 from the baguette special. The chicken with bacon crisps with rocket is the best ever. The portion (baguette) is so big; I thought I’m done with eating but if I see inside of the bag, then there’s still more baguette with chicken. I was so happy 🥹
I will definitely revisit again if the queue is not long… But still it is worth to come back and queue :))

The number 6 with chicken, Salami, Salami Cracklin and Truffle mayo is my favourite, easily the best baguette I've ever had

Lovely place, excellent staff and service. Worth the wait, expect a queue when you arrive! Pictured is black pepper pastrami, and Parma ham with mozzarella and pesto
If the queue outside every Monday-Friday, doesn't confirm this as the greatest lunch spot in Cardiff.. The incredible Baguettes do, the Friday Indian special is just that. Highly recommend it. Also anything with Salami Crackling, or the beef and peppercorn sauce special is also delicious. Great service and staff are so attentive and friendly.

This small sandwich shop based in the Arcades will more than likely have a queue outside, they make it easy to order ahead up to a day in advance, to walk in and pick up to skip the queues.

I've visited this place several times, usually have the number 16, shown in the picture, which is absolutely delicious! It is takaway only, and despite how many other places there are around that sell foodstuffs, there is normally a queue. This goes down quickly I'm happy to say & the team that own/work there are always friendly & efficient. It is quite simply the nicest baguette I've even eaten, every time I go. :o)

I am so pleased that I had the chance to try out this popular local sandwich shop while staying in this city.
I tried the baguette sandwich on brown bread and every menu I tried are tasty and fresh! Their baguttes are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, I don't mind eating only the bagutte itself. I don't normally reviewing the food I had but this place is worst it!
This place has a cult following for a very good reason. Eveytime my partner picks up a baguette, we get one each and try half of both to stop us being so jealous of what the other person ordered! You'd be an idiot not to try this place, and an even bigger idiot not to try their specials!
Best Baguette I ever had 😍 Perfect breakfast and the service was so lovely. I was getting recommendations and all explanations and was not hurried with my time I took to decide.

Best of the best! All staff work really hard to cater to the huge queues they have on a daily basis. Always friendly, helpful and make you feel a part of the fresh family within 30 seconds of entering the building. Delicious freshly made baguettes with the best and biggest selection in Cardiff. Cakes are fabulous (especially lemon pistachio). Absolute legends!
Never thought it was worth waiting for until I had one… by far the best sandwiches/baguettes I have ever had. Get there before 1130 or after 2pm if you want a shorter queue.

You can tell even as you're taking your first bite that this is going to be good. Even the bread is good !
The fillings were very tasty and very good - and the staff were welcoming and helpful and took great care to avoid the things I am intolerant to.
It's a shame they don't have any space indoors to sit down and eat, but overall I'd say this is my go-to place for lunch in Cardiff.
Don't be put off by the queue - you have to try this.
I look forward to going back next time I'm in Cardiff.
We are in Cardiff today from the US, visiting for the first time. We arrived at Fresh right before the line started to grow. They were so friendly in this little shop. I had read the excellent reviews before we came, and I was prepared to wait for as long as necessary. I got the #5 chicken bacon avocado baguette and my husband got the smoked salmon cream cheese baguette. My husband decided to try the Dandelion & Burdock soda. We joked with the owners about what it might taste,since we don't have that flavor in the US. I promised to report back. My husband says that at American might think it tastes a lot like bubble gum. I took a sip and I agree. It was good! This was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in my life!! No matter how long the line is, stand in it! You'll be glad you did. Thank you Fresh the Baguette!!!
