The best scones in the world. I think we ate all of them🫢. Amazing place with great views. Delicious coffee and the most friendly staff. Loved everything about it. We would highly recommend to everyone passing by and definitely coming back when in the area. We would give 10 stars if we only could.
Last time visited the ugly house it was boarded up so to see it open and now a delightful cate serving traditional Welsh fare is most pleasing.
To note can visit house for free and there are some information boards in grounds.
Food and drinks are expensive but cafe is small and therefore I suspect needs to charge more.
Service is friendly and relaxed.
Heating by wood burner.
All food home made and their chutney is a wonder.
There is some seating outside but again limited.
Welsh rarebit with ham came with large side salad and chutney.
Cakes looked good with large selection
Excellant selection of speciality teas including lapsing suchong...all loose leaf.
Toilet worth a mention and visit as at top of garden via steep zig zag path!!
Garden interesting as wild.
Worth a visit as unique building in Wales and if in or around betsycowed easy to access and visit.
The Ugly House is NOT ugly!
Despite attracted to find following a street sign post.. it was amazing having lunch here.
Friendly stuff, delicious home made food, nice setting area and a small lovely outdoor area with few tables. The home made scones with butter and jam is amazing 😋
Excuse the empty plates.. couldn’t wait for the picture 😅
Excellent food, had the Welsh rarebit followed by coffee and walnut cake (ate it that quick didn’t get a pic). Can’t fault a thing! Great warm welcome by a lovely lady. Evan if you pop in for a great coffee definitely recommend!
Really good food and wonderful staff.
Went for a tea and hot chocolate, ended up having a whole meal, enjoyed everything!
Stopped here as part of a North Wales guided tour. We were told the origins of the house and local area, which was fascinating. I bought some Welsh cakes and local honey - both of which are excellent!
I visited this unusual little place as part of a Portmerion,Castles and Snowdon Tour.
Booking through Viator.
Hand a wonderful day and this formed part of it.
It's the only house purely built of rocks that are just plonked on top of each other.Nothing binding it together!!!!
You can see what I mean in the pics attached. Dec worth a visit if you're visiting Snowdonia.
Stunning little find. Superb blend of tea and the Welsh Rarebit is stunning.
I also brought some loose leaf tea, bara birth and Welsh cakes back for the family. Thoroughly enjoyed by all and I would recommend spending the money to bring home a lovely reminder of your visit
Splendid. Very very nice crumpets, Evry thing else was perfect as well, scone, espresso, scotch eggs..
This is one of my favourite places to sit outside and enjoy a coffee or some food. Today we sat in the garden and enjoyed the view of the Ugly House and garden which is both peaceful and beautiful.
We enjoyed coffees, homemade soup and scones. The hospitality is second to none and the staff are absolutely lovely. Parking is free which is a bonus!
