Love the historic, unique pub interior and outside yard. Unspoilt and just as it would have been hundreds of years ago. The food is always good as are the drinks and the beer. The landlady is courteous, welcoming and friendly and just as a good publican should be, 👍
We were treated very well there! Cosy pub in Canterbury, reasonably priced food and drinks (food is delicious there, btw). Can get very busy at peak hours.
Small but plenty of character. Staff are friendly and helpful. Menu isn't extensive but is good quality and has all the favourites. Small courtyard garden with heaters to the side.
Visited in a Saturday at 1:30pm for a bit of lunch. Found a table and ordered at the bar. Lost a star as one of the dishes we wanted wasn’t available. Happy to visit again when in town.

Cozy, stylish, excellent food. Came to England wanting to try bangers & mash and fish n chips and this place gave us both with excellence! Prices are a tad higher than other pubs, but worth it for the atmosphere and quality of food! Enjoyed a cozy corner to watch the rain, write postcards, and eat slowly. Wonderful!
Visited for Saturday lunch - and all four of us really enjoyed our meals (the 5 small plates for £28 was excellent value). What really made it stand out for me was the service - the staff were SO friendly and welcoming. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that two of us were only too happy to abandon the shopping trip and head back there for the afternoon. Really excellent beer too, which always helps - I was particularly taken with the Whitstable Bay Pale Ale. Huge thanks to the team for making our visit to Canterbury so enjoyable.

Delicious starters (recommend taking the 5 dishes for £28 option), great beer and service too. Fully recommended.

Found this great pub last year and just had a drink but remembered the food menu looked good. We visited today for lunch and the food was fantastic, the staff very friendly again, we will be back.
Went based on the reviews from Trip Advisor. Lovely pub, friendly staff, food was good and the local beer was delightful. The garden was a nice surprise. Would recommend 🤩
