Best experience after we came back from Japan. This restaurant is traditional Japanese cooking food. I have read the bad review and I think they have never had a real Japanese meal before. The host is a Japanese woman and Japanese chef. The owner is honest and gentle person. Her rice was well perfectly cooked !!!
We really recommend this restaurant if you want a real Japanese food and no need to pay for the plane ticket to Japan.
Our family is very happy and especially our little one, she even said Oishi !!!
We will definitely come back again!
We had an early supper here before going to see an opera at the Marlowe. It’s a friendly, informal and unpretentious. Service was slow, but they were very busy, when we mentioned we needed to get to theatre in time and they gave us a discount on the wine, which was unexpected and appreciated. Food was good especially the non meat gyozo, which were on the website but not on the menu, apparently because they are to be discontinued. I was very pleased they had some… please, please keep them on the menu! Great to have tasty affordable Japanese food! Thank you Tamago

This place was great! Good vegetarian options. We had the veggie shoyu ramen, terriyaki tofu bento and some yuzu honey teas for dinner, super yummy. Staff members were very friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable as well. Highly recommend!
Honestly, this was really lovely. The food was yum and big portions! It was cheap too compared to other places in Canterbury. The atmosphere is slightly lacking, could have been better mood lighting and the decor is nice but basic, however, the staff were attentive and the plum wine was so delicious. It's not a fine dining establishment but it is great for a more relaxed place to eat. Probably perfect for a lunch venue. Definitely recommend if you love Asian cuisine!
The taste of food is exactly what I had in Japan, or nearby countries such as Taiwan. Tempura is authentic, the udon and the soup I had served me well. However, I suppose the dining environment could be better. For example, we sat close to the door, which sometimes not quite relaxing. The door is also too narrow to pass. The rest are good to us though.

Cute little place, the food is delicious, KimCheese spring rolls are inventive. The selection is small but packed with quality. Can get booked up as not many seats so try and book earlier if possible.
I had a lovely meal here with my wife, where I had the Sweet and spicy chicken rice bowl. It was of a very good quality and also the rice was cooked perfectly.
To me, it was like a posher and much better version of Wagamama's, which is only a compliment.
The staff were helpful, friendly and polite.

The food in this place is authentic and really good –Especially the chicken karaage. The place is cosy, clean, and pleasant. I will definitely recommend this restaurant for anybody who is looking for a Japanese restaurant in Canterbury.
Nice and cozy small spot, with great food. Had the karaagedon which was pretty tasty, and some bubble tea. Staff is very friendly and prices are good. Will definitely come back for more another time :)
My Mrs had sweet sour chicken with rice 10/10, I had a bowl of chicken ramen with a side of a little kastu curry was 10/10 great service smiley staff. Food was very tasty
Very nice Japanese restaurant that offers big portions. It is quite small so you'd have to queue if you're coming in without a reservation.
Went for dinner and ordered chicken Katsu curry among other things! Would definitely give this a try if you are in the area. Probably will go back
An incredible restaurant with amazing staff!
We were made extremely welcome, despite catching the main server about to take a break, and nothing seemed to be too much. The gyoza and karage chicken small dishes were incredibly, arguably some of the tastiest gyoza I've had...eat your heart out wagamamas.
The ramen was so good we forgot to take photos! An amazing tonkotsu ramen with a delicious bone broth, the karamiso ramen was perfectly spiced and chashu pork to top both dishes off was so tender.
Disappointed we had to dash, but will certainly be back!
Simple eating place, but calm and enjoyable after a day’s sightseeing. Quick service and tasty food…especially karaage chicken.
i got the ramen and taiyaki and it was pretty good. The ramen was slightly saltier than i liked but still good. I would recommend the taiyaki as it was really delicious. The lychee slush wasn’t nice it tasted like water with lychee syrup. Staff were friendly but the qr code ordering took away the interaction but is convenient for people who are a bit shy.
