If you ever find yourself in Canterbury, or you live there, then this place is a must. The menu is amazing- I had the belly pork and it was a massive portion, cooked to perfection. The staff are really friendly and the decour is lovely, fitting a to the Moroccan theme. Just go - you won't regret it.
Lovely tasting food and a good variety, exerlent surroundings, very helpful staff and a great price will defiantly recommend this restaurant to all my family & friends!!

Love this restaurant, this was my third visit over a few years and it has been consistently good. The decor is fantastic with the Moroccan theme even extending into the Ladies. The food is delicious and perfectly cooked. The waitress recommended a really nice wine and gave us just the right amount of attention without being intrusive. The only slight criticism would be the low chairs - maybe they could do with a firm cushion.

Lovely place and staff the atmosphere is great. Would recommend the haloumi couscous and sticky date cake
Fabulous service and fabulous food!!! Have been a few times and would give it 5/5 every time! Only ate their today and already can’t wait to come back!
Took my wife for our anniversary and had a delightful experience. We were seated in a small nook downstairs, very cosy and private. The food was amazing, the service brilliant, the atmosphere lovely, and the cost was very reasonable. I'd recommend the house red too
A small quaint restaurant , great staff , food was fantastic .
Excellent food! Nice and warm atmosphere. The staff was kind. My family enjoyed the food👍

It was just alright.
The place is nice and the staff was helpful.
The food however, was just not special enough I think.
It was just plain good.
The paella was dry and flavourless, the meatballs where good, the hummus as well, the falafel was a bit dry overcooked. Found it a bit too expensive for the size of the servings.
Great food..clean and tidy restaurant with good atmosphere..great staff..value for money
Good food, Great service, beautiful atmosphere. This cozy restaurant offers large and small dishes of Spain and Morocco and is great for tapas and tangines. Loved the separate vegan menu with a plethora of choices. While I prefer food with a little more spiciness and flavor, everything here was fresh and appetizing. Very lovely staff. Beautiful, authentic decor and music.
This is a great little restaurant. The manager was very accommodating and able to give us a table on a busy Friday evening at short notice. There is a good mixture of mezze and big plates. The staff are also super friendly and attentive. Overall would highly recommend!
We had the tapas dishes which were more Spanish inspired. Every dish was good and we had some house wine as well.
We wanted to book a table over the phone but there were none available at the time. In the end, we managed to get a table without a booking or queuing. It was overall a nice environment and dinner.
Food was delicious and highly recommend, however it was very warm when sat downstairs. The seat I had was on the right next to a wall which was very small and not very comfortable. It was not very busy but if it was full I'd feel a bit claustrophobic. Besides that, very nice decoration and you no longer felt like you were in Canterbury but on holiday!
The ambience and decor is amazing and you really feel like you're in Morocco. Its really cosy (and you can comfortably be socially distanced). The food was great and there were many vegan options. The houmous, aubergine stew, calamari and pork belly were top notch, everything was well seasoned. Tea was a bit over priced.
Very nice! Loved the atmosphere and the cushioned seats! Food was very tasty and friendly staff, we went to Canterbury for the day and really glad we came across this place!
Wonderful atmosphere, ordered halumi bruchette and chicken sausage bruchette, roast pots and olive feta stater. It was delicious, plenty of it, excellent value for money would recommend 👍
We were looking for something different for lunch but not the usual pizzas and burgers that seem so common in this area. We spotted this place while walking around and popped in. The staff were friendly and helpful, answering questions we had about the menu. Service was quick and the food excellent. The building itself has plenty of character and well worth the visit. We had tapas this time but will return and try something different from the menu.
Loved the tapas board and sautéed seafood. Service was attentive but slow as the place was packed.
Have been in Canterbury many times and always enjoy dining in town.
Made Mauresque is another little New discover foe us.
The service very friendly and food are delicious.
I came here for lunch on a rainy Saturday and I am so glad I did! The halloumi sandwich was so yummy and the date pudding was delightful. Although it said ice cream on the menu, they brought me cream but that was soon rectified. The whole decor and bathrooms were beautiful also. The staff were friendly and the vegan menu was very accommodating.
We stumbled upon this restaurant after walking into town, both hungry for Tapas and boy did they not disappoint! Starting with the warm welcome, we were lead downstairs with a choice of tables. The waitress was attentive but not too in your face and her timings for service were spot on. As we hadn’t been before she talked through the menu and left us to our own devices. We had six dishes and a bottle of white wine, all were delicious and hit the spot! We even had space for dessert, which was also top notch. I’ve given the restaurant a 5 out of 5 as we both enjoyed our visit and will recommend to family and friends. Well done Cafe Mauresque!
I ate here on a Wednesday evening in September. The restaurant has a very pleasant feel; softly lit, uncrowded and relaxed. I was visiting Canterbury and Cafe Mauresque was recommended by the owner of the B&B where I was staying. Located centrally, close to the Cathedral, one of the best local options. Plenty of vegetarian options and generally a varied menu. Food was very good quality, so much so that I splurged on an indulgent dessert. Staff friendly and attentive. No complaints!
