I brought my girlfriend here for dinner last Saturday as a treat ... and what a gem of a place!! Your food is just amazing ... we had soft shell crab to start, half a lobster for mains and the white chocolate with honeycombs, raspberries and dark chocolate sauce for desert! I could have eaten it all twice over! The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful in helping us choose a wine! We will definitely return and have recommended you on our fb pages ... thank you for a lovely evening x
Been meaning to go for a while.. So jus popped in for lunch.. It was amazing.. So fresh & really tasty.. The staff were very friendly & attentive.. We had the lunchtime special 2 courses for £12.. Absolutely fantastic price for the amount we got.. Totally recommend the mussles.. Will definitely be returning �
My Mum and I have been to Chapmans several times. We have never had a 'duff' meal. The staff are very friendly and couldn't be more helpful, attentive and nothing is too much trouble. I'm sure we'll be visiting again and again x
A must for all fish lovers! Our first visit to this exceptional restaurant in Canterbury certainly exceeded our expectations on so many levels. We couldn't have wished for a better dining experience and as such highly recommend it. We will be going back!
We had such a great meal and fun evening here! Everyone from our 12 year old picky son and our 16 year old semi-picky daughter loved their dinner! And our server was fantastic. Highly recommend.

A smart, stylish and contemporary restaurant, that had a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere (and didnt mind us being in jeans!). The staff were attentive without hovering over our table, and the food was excellent. They had no problems catering for the GF requirements of my daughter and timely service brought us perfectly cooked fish and shellfish. We will be back again.
Absolutely stunning seafood and kind, attentive and wonderful waitresses and staff.
Fruit de mer was fresh, fabulous and sublime.
Ortega Biddenden white wine is delish and nice big tables to dine upon.

I went there for my birthday and we booked a table. The service was alright and the food was really good. As I'm from Portugal I do crave fish a lot and this was a nice restaurant to eat fresh fish once in a while. Everyone enjoyed it as the atmosphere was great.

We visited for a birthday meal out and can honestly say we have a new favourite restaurant. The quality of food and also the innovative menu really sets this a cut above other similar establishments!
We enjoyed the lychee mojito cocktails.
We had the Scallops and Mussels to start. The best quality mussels we have ever had, that were perfectly tender but not chewy. The broth with the mussels was incredible and we soaked up all the goodness with the incredible bread we had ordered (warm and crusty loaf). The scallops melted in my mouth, I only wished there were more! This was followed by the Lobster Thermidor and Goan curry for main. This curry was to die for and I love to see a restaurant doing something different with lobster! It had an incredible depth of flavour without just the heat you’d usually get.
We then had the s’mores shots, which is again something different to the rest and these were really delicious. Followed by the crumble (best ever!) and the white chocolate mousse in a chocolate dome. The crumble had so much flavour, in the fruit and the crumble which usually both parts would just be ‘sweet’, there spices and vanilla which you could taste throughout and the cinnamon ice cream was unique and the perfect accompaniment. The white chocolate mousse was really delicious too! We were kindly given a ‘happy birthday’ plate with a scoop of ice cream and officially had to be rolled home after this!
The wait staff were attentive and really friendly!
We will definitely be returning, and only wished we had been sooner.

Service was lovely - booking through Fork was super simple. We were a party of 9 people and overall almost everyone enjoyed their food. Fish and chips were the best we had on our UK trip and the oysters were delicious too. Goan crab curry was mediocre at best - incredibly way too sweet and overpriced, would not recommend it at all.

I was here Monday night and everything went smoothly. We were looking for a place to eat some mussels when I stumble upon this place, so I decided to give it a go. The inside is lovely, and the staff was very welcoming( considering that it was late and after a hard day of work you're smile can sometimes not be so big when you see new customers,:p). The food was delicious and fresh, from what I read online they take pride in serving fresh fish daily, and for me it was true. I tried for my first time the rock oysters, and they were great, can wait to go again and try some more :d. I also recommend the mussels , they were lovely cooked (i tried the wine and cream ones, but they also have Thai green curry and beer leak and mustard)and the portion is very big considering the price, actually, if I think about it I never eat mussels so cheap. Thank you Chapmans for the experience you definitely gone see me again.:)
Absolutely beautiful food, could not fault any of it. One of, of not the best curries I've ever had and perfectly cooked fish and sides. Friendly and welcoming staff, thoroughly enjoyed the experience all round. It was a little loud but it was busy so what else can you expect!
We had a wonderful seafood dinner at Chapman's. Fresh ingredients with a nice twist to some of their dishes. The monkfish was the highlight of my meal - though the other dishes are all commendable! It's always a plus to get great service too! Would definitely recommend anyone to try if they enjoy seafood!
Had the jolly boys Xmas lunch here. Not disappointed at all, Had the mussels in cider starter and the seafood curry (picture) for the main. Very tasty indeed, prices not bad for the quality of food given. Staff very good and attentive not over bearing. Would recommend.
We had dinner here on a Friday night. Restaurant was not full but there were still some guests since we had an 18:15 reservation. The food was delicious. We ordered fresh oysters, lobsters and mussels. The ambiance is cozy and staff was attentive! Location is right outside Westgate.
Fantastic fish restaurant. Friendly service. Great mains. We had the cod and the sea bass, both were excellent. Dessert is large enough for two. Price is arpung 60GBP for two mains, dessert and tea.

My wife and I walked in from the street and were lucky enough to get a great table by the window upstairs.
Everyone was so friendly and attentive. The service, food and drink were exemplary. Grilled oysters with Parmesan, and Dover sole were the stand-out dishes but everything was great.
Next time we will reserve a table and bring our son to enjoy the delicious fish & chips!
Delicious seafood and nice atmosphere. This is a small cosy restaurant with polite and attentive staff with a small variety of fish and seafood, but nicely cooked and served. We didn't have reservation but we still found a table easily. Drinks and desserts are a bit expensive though. For dessert, we had dark chocolate sphere and bamboo and camomile tea. Tip 12.5% included.

Staff were friendly and courteous. Food was brought out promptly and perfect temperature. We had the steak and lobster and seafood platter. Both were delicious. I would definitely recommend and I'll be returning.
Lovely fish tapas (small plates), with mains available. Particularly enjoyed the dirty fries, with crab, crayfish and cheese. Service friendly, prices reasonable for fish dishes, nice decor.
Lovely to see independent restaurant in the busy tourist city. We were little early, and tge restaurant was not ready yet, but friendly waiting staff welcomed us, which was very much appreciated. Everything was cooked freash. The fish and chips was very good, and very reasonably priced as well. Also the squids (starter) was very light, and tasty. My oysters were from Maldon, and they were so yummy. My mussels were slightly over cooked, but acceptable. Highly recommended.
