We ate at Oscar & Bentleys (O&Bs) both Friday 12th and Saturday 13th January. I’d never had the chance to eat there before, nor actually a specific allergy-aware restaurant that cater not just for the usual gluten and maybe dairy-free people in the world, but all the allergens associated with food too. There are at least 14 groups! I know i was surprised to learn that! The food was stunning! It was an utter treat to be able to read the menu and be able to have ANYTHING off it! I ate fish and chips with tartare sauce - I haven’t eaten batter for soooo long - and the vegan sticky toffee pudding and dairy free ice cream. I was in heaven! My hubby (who has no allergies whatsoever) tasted them and seconded my assessment. I tasted his Swahili curry and that was lovely too. On the Saturday, I started with salt and pepper squid, then the pan roasted salmon with crushed new potatoes and shrimp vinaigrette, and champagne rhubarb crumble and dairy free ice cream to finish! It was fabulous. The service was brilliant. The waitress was very chatty and courteous. All in all, a fantastic restaurant. I wil definitely be going back soon!

Popped in for lunch with a friend and not disappointed. Good selection on vegan menu for me including wine and beer. I know vegan is becoming more mainstream but it is still difficult to get a choice in most places. Food was delicious and cooked to order, staff were friendly and service was excellent. Would highly recommend and will be going back soon.

The staff were helpful and friendly. One of the servers was going to find out what dairy free and gluten free cake was available- she got waylaid but came back to us to apologise for the delay. Great service and great food. No cake to take away however I now have my Christmas pud and an excuse to go back. It's a bit of a journey but worth it.

Fantastic food. A huge treat for any coeliac to relax and choose anything at all on the menu. Lovely setting and friendly helpful staff. We will certainly be back. The onion rings are to die for 😍

Omg been waiting to try this restaurant for ages & boy it didn’t disappoint. It was wonderful to feel normal & not have to stress about what you are going to eat. The food was amazing, the best onion rings I’ve ever had. Thank you the waiter who made it possible for me to take some sticky toffee pudding home with me, but all the staff were really friendly. Can’t wait to come again.

Came in for lunch yesterday with my husband, it was our 12th wedding anniversary. Super friendly staff and the food was amazing. It was so nice to be able to choose anything from the menu 😊. Even my husband who is not gluten intolerant said it was the best meal he had eaten in a restaurant in years! A truly lovely experience and we will be back very soon. Thank you x

I was delighted to be able to go to this restaurant on Friday evening with Paul and Jamie. It's the only restaurant I've ever been to that has a dairy-free menu for starters and mains, and has a dairy-free section on its dessert menu. It was so good not to have to ask what items on the menu were dairy-free and it was great to have a choice of sweets (not just to be offered a less than inviting fruit salad or a few strawberries!) The chocolate and orange tart and the fruit crumble were both delicious.

If i could pick this restaurant up & move it round the corner from me then I would a very happily satisfied Coeliac. To sit in a restaurant & be told you can have everything & not worry about any cross-contamination is so amazing. The food at this restaurant is so tasty & I highly recommend that if you are in Canterbury you go out of your way to go there. Also can do it's dairy free too. I will definitely be going back when I a visiting down there again. Love it love it love it.

My mum and I have been looking for a new regular haunt for lunch on shopping and theatre trips since Ferns sadly closed and we've now found it. Fabulous food in comfortable surroundings. Ate there yesterday and mum reckoned it was the best ham, egg and chips she'd ever had! The Christmas decorations were very pretty too! See you again soon.

Had a fantastic lunch here yesterday although just 1 of us is gluten free, all of us loved the food and such a treat to choose from a whole menu special mention to the fish and chips, burger and sticky toffee pudding. I've been here twice now and absolutely loved it! The food is so tasty and the portion sizes are very generous! We rang to book a very last-minute table yesterday evening and they were more than happy to accommodate us. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning :)

This restaurant in Canterbury is truly exceptional, deserving the title of the best in town. From the delectable food to the excellent service and inviting atmosphere, it provided an amazing dining experience. The restaurant's meticulous attention to detail was evident in every aspect. I opted for their signature dish, the Dirty Burger with potato wedges, and it exceeded my expectations. The burger was generously sized and bursting with flavor, while the potato wedges were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. This restaurant is a must-visit, delivering an unforgettable culinary journey.

Best when a live band is playing in the next street 👌🏽 Good food, nice location, proper ketchup and mayo bottles, best for people with allergies. Gluten free and lacto free available here. Prices a bit higher than usual but therefore local and well made stuff!

Absolutely amazing place to eat. The food and service so wonderful. Lots of vegetarian/ Vegan choices. And dog friendly, which is great for the centre of Canterbury. We had a mixture of starters between two people, and vegan sticky toffee pud, and vegan crumble for desert, both absolutely yummy.

A totally gluten free restaurant and locally sourced ingredients wines, beers, soft drinks and waters. The batter is something to be experienced on the battered fish or the onion rings.Crunchy thick and tasty. Large sweet menu also with some interesting features. Service was excellent as always, having been a number of times since they opened they are constantly excellent.

Amazing gluten free food. This is a 5 for me but not for my partner who isn't gluten free. I had the beer battered fish and chips and it was amazing. Haven't had a fish and chips like that for so long. It was a huge portion and perfectly cooked. Funnily enough the batter sort of looked like a fish as shown in my picture. My partner just had the tempura and thought it wasn't very nice. Just not Japanese? 4/5 stars for her.

All meals here are gluten free so for a family who has a member who has coeliac this place is great. The fact that the food is awesome and the staff are super friendly is a great bonus. All meals are cooked to order and freshly prepared which can lead to a small delay in food arriving however we would definitely recommend and would definitely visit again when we are next in Canterbury.

We had dinner here during our trip to Canterbury and we loved the place and the food. And the service not to forget! It's great if you are vegan or gluten-free, as they have some great options for that. We opted for the Risotto and Aubergine Katsu Curry and both were delicious. We shared a starter as well. They have a great wine selection by the glass. The service was very friendly and attentive. We did make a booking but on a Tuesday evening that was not necessary. All in all, I fully recommend the place!

Lovely experience. I wandered in without a booking and despite having a busy Saturday night, the staff were kindly able to accommodate me. Had a nice dinner capped off with a sticky toffee pudding that was absolutely fantastic. Even better–everything on the menu was gluten-free! Wonderful for this coeliac customer.

Cozy little bistro tucked away in the heart of the city. Very interesting mix of dishes on the menu, and always something new to try! Lots of vegan options too. The staff was very friendly and welcoming to us and our dog. A bit on the pricier side, for relatively small portions, but would still recommend and visit again.

Good food and friendly service in a comfortable setting (seating is available both outside and in), although as a very minor point, the music felt slightly incongruent. Children's menu is available, dogs are welcome.

This restaurant deserve a special attention. I personally had the best restaurant's experience in years: cozy, family owned small bistro; Slow Roast Pork Belly and Katsu Chicken Curry were incredibly delicious and well presented. This restaurant is a must-visit.

The food was delicious and the waitress was friendly. Especially great for people with celiac or gluten intolerances. We got the traditional Fish and Chips and the Halloumi & Mushroom Burger.
