The Malt Shovel - Cannington - Photo album

We had a lovely lunchtime meal at the Malt Shovel. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and service and food quality excellent. It’s off the beaten track down Blackmore Lane. We will definitely be back thank you.
Country pub in a lovely area. Food is excellent and a decent selection of real ales (if that's your thing - I like real ale, so all good for me). I had beer battered fish and chips, sat on the external terrace, on a warm evening in May...lovely, and certainly recommended
3 of us stopped here for food. The quality of food was very good and the best chips I have ever had. Service was great and couldn't fault it.
Fantastic menu fabulous food. Always helpful staff really nice decor. Proper country pub with low beams and open fires. Quiet and warm. Like grandmas front room.
We were a table of 16 on a stag do, ate slightly after lunchtime, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating, they organised pre-ordering all the food which was delicious and then kept us well topped up with drinks whilst we were there. Thank you to the Malt Shovel staff on duty on 22/04, you w
Attended a wake for an old friend here, good food and a lovely garden. Would go back if it wasn't 150 miles away!
Brilliant gaff and staff were friendly, and the food was amazing. Top marks
Slightly hidden off the main A39 road towards Bridgwater but sign posted. In my opinion well worth the slight detour. Plenty of parking and seating, both inside and outside. Dogs welcome. As we walked in the door we were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Given a menu plus clear directions to
Good conditioned beer, selection of Cheddar ales and Quantock plus guest beer. Recommended nice location friendly staff and locals Looks like the pub is closed recently October 2023?
Fantastic lunch is classy country pub. Well kept beer, good menu and incredibly friendly staff. We were 4 adults and three young boys. All catered for fabulously. Highly recommended.
Absolutely fantastic local hidden gem! Visited here on the 18th October with my husband and our little dog Tilly who says thank you for her doggy treats. The staff were lovely and the food was fantastic. The steak and ale pie was home made and the chips were to die for. Great portion size and valu
Nice, well cooked food, good selection of beers.
My brother and I stopped here on our way to view properties for sale. What a charming pub/restaurant to eat at. Such a warm welcome from the owners and they were happy to give us information on the area for places of interest. The food was superb, sirloin steak perfection and lemon posset dessert
Lovely country pub. Stayed 2 nights. Room clean and quite. Had meal first and second night. Very reasonable price. First night steak 🥩 was cooked how I asked. Second night hubby had lemon sole and again great meal. Only downside was paid £10 for breakfast. First morning no issues. I had egg royal.
Been here a couple of times for dinner. Excellent service and food top quality pub grub. Cosy, country pub with woodburner. Will definitely return again and again.
Had lunch today, great beer. great food and great service.
Stumbled across this pub for a drink after a walk with a friend, what a lovely pub. Staff are super friendly and welcoming, it's clean and tidy and the Sunday roast looked incredible. We ended up having a dessert (sticky toffee pudding) after seeing how good the food looked and it tasted amazing. Wi
