The people of Campsea Ash are lucky to have a local pub like The Duck! Excellent place for Sunday lunch. Roast Beef served rare, with a great selection of vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Mixed meat roast and nut roast available. Traditional desserts, including brioche bread and butter pudding, rice pudding, and crumble. Good espresso! Dog friendly as well.
What a wonderful pub. The team running the place were fantastic; I would happily take anyone I wanted to impress here. The food is creative but entirely accessible and there’s something for everyone on the menu. I’m already looking forward to going back. The pub is opposite the Wickham Market train station, making it a great destination for an easy and delicious day out from Ipswich or Woodbridge.
Fabulous meal. Camping nearby and walked to the pub. Couldn’t resist the menu and had three courses. Absolutely yummy. Service quick and helpful. Great atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
My wife and I enjoyed a super lunch at The Duck between Christmas and New Year. It was our first visit to the pub since pre-Covid, when it had become one of our favourites.
We had two courses each and were pleasantly full afterwards. The French onion soup took me over 30 minutes to get through and came with a whole slice of cheese-smothered toast in the bowl - what the menu described as “croutons”. I may not have ordered it if I’d known, having ordered the burger for main, but both courses were fantastic. My wife enjoyed sweet and sour chicken bao buns to start, followed by pan-fried cod with tarka dhal. I tried the latter and can confirm it was delicious.
Service was friendly and efficient, as it always is at every pub/restaurant in this group. We look forward to returning again soon!
We stopped on impulse late Sunday lunchtime. It was very hot so we wanted to sit inside although the garden area was pleasant. We were a bit daunted when we entered as all the tables were laid, like a restaurant rather than a pub. Nice varied menu that we will explore on future visits and reasonable prices. Being a Sunday, the other half had roast beef followed by Baileys cheesecake and I had cod and chips followed by Eton mess. It was lovely. The staff were friendly and obliging. Definitely will be going back.
Lovely local pub, really friendly service, food came out quick and the portions were very generous. Good value for money, would recomend it to a friend!!
Great pub - Awesome food and good prices. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere inside and out.
A member of staff was very evidently smoking and smell of smoke came through restaurant, hence 4 stars not 5.
We came across The Duck during a visit to the Suffolk coast, and it was a great surprise! Lovely outdoor space accommodated to respect Covid-19 guidelines. We thoroughly enjoyed our two visits (yes, two!). The staff were lovely, and helpfully suggested local beers, and the food was great. We highly recommend it.
Staff were attentive. Food was ok, not amazing. I would recommend but not on a busy day.
