Had a very good meal here in cosy surroundings. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Great menu choices. I had the soft shell crab burger which was very tasty. My friend really enjoyed the green Thai curry. The puddings, sticky toffee pudding and cheese cake were delicious. The cocktails were great too.
Really excellent meal at Little Rose tonight. We had the jumbo tiger prawns and the halibut from the specials menu as well as the smoked salmon starter and all three were amazing. Beautifully cooked, wonderful flavour. Desserts were also lovely; the sticky toffee pudding was genuinely one of the best I’ve ever had. Cozy atmosphere, attentive service (the side of fries came out late and the manager came to tell us it was taken off our bill without us saying a word of complaint). I would highly recommend this restaurant and hope to come back soon myself!
Was visiting site with my brother at Monday afternoon time. And we were very excited to try this renewed and refurbished new sea food Restaurant. Have to mention they do also steaks and burgers and ech.
Food quality was outstanding: delicious, tasty finger licking good meals. Staff also very helpful, polite and try to keep things smooth and simple.
Down side I would say: prices is quite high and waiting time for orders could be more improved. Overall was super satisfied and will definitely come back again and recommend to my friends! 😎👍
Among the fish and chips, sea bass and herb chicken, the sea bass is the best, full of fish flavor. Herbal chicken is also unique, with tender and smooth meat. The restaurant environment is good. The waiters were polite, unfortunately they seemed a bit understaffed.
Wondering round Cambridge we came across the Little Rose 🌺. We just wanted a small dish before eating later. We chose a plate of charcuterie and bread from an extensive menu plus a bottle of Prosecco - on special, all served by a lovely member of staff called Deniz who looked after us very well and was charming.
We will return for a full meal as the menu is extensive with a selection of delicious sounding fish dishes and specials. I wish they were my local😊
Best restaurant in Cambridge for Seafood and Roast. Amazing decorations and very good music. We had oysters followed by Halibut and Roast beef. Service was very attentive and great wine recommendation. Definitely go back again
The interior design is a great improvement from when it was Loch Fyne and there is much better use of the space. The service is always lovely, the staff are welcoming. The menu has plenty of options however only 2 mains for vegans: Roast squash gnocchi, chestnuts, sage, toasted seeds and Potato & beetroot curry, candied cashews, coconut rice, kale pakora. The 2 vegan dishes that were on the Loch Fyne menu were also gnocchi and curry so it feels lazy that they’re so similar. They could definitely add some more interesting and tastier plant-based dishes. They’re not necessarily bad at the moment, but are lacking that OOMPH I get from the other dishes. Although, everything else I’ve tried from the menu has been delightful so far.
Here’s some starters I recommend:
• Potted duck & pistachio, orange marmalade, truffle butter, brioche (however the brioche could be served toasted, or change the brand)
• Burrata, roast beetroot & orange, toasted hazelnuts, salted cracker
• Crab Thermidor tart, crispy kale (beautiful!)
• Smoked mackerel arancini, Parmesan, chipotle aioli
If you are to visit as a group, I highly recommend ordering a few starters and maybe 1 or 2 mains to share between you rather than getting 1 starter each and a main each. The mains are good, but the starters are amazing and you wanna try as many starters as possible. It’s also more economic.
From the mains, give these a try:
• Crab bisque linguini, Romano peppers, basil, Parmesan
• Maple glazed porchetta, smoked garlic potato, puffed crackling, apple gravy
• Tandoori mutton pie, saffron crushed potatoes, mint yoghurt
Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the food and the service. It may feel expensive, but come in Monday-Friday between 12 and 6pm and there is a set menu available: 2 courses for £20, or 3 courses for £25. PLEASE change the vegan options and add more of them. It wouldn’t hurt to get rid of one or two meat dishes and have 4 vegan dishes. Your vegan customers will be very happy about it, I’m sure, and you’ll have more omnivores going for the vegan option too. Another complaint I have is the music, it wouldn’t hurt to refresh the playlist every once in a while. Play more sophisticated music: smooth jazz, ambient, soul, etc. I’d be happy to make the new playlist for free! Great job with the new place, guys. I will definitely be coming again, thank you!
Pedro was amazing! We had a delicious meal ! If you look for a seafood place in Camb, this is def a place to try
I love sea food very much but I have never eaten as delicious Oysters as I had in Little Rose. And their Fish &Chips!…. No words can describe how different it was from all the Fish & Chips I have ever had around the country. Unless you try it yourself you wouldn’t understand what I mean.
Staff was amazing,so welcoming, relaxed and friendly. Cocktails was so enjoyable.
Price was so reasonable too.
Definitely will be visiting Cambridge specially for Little Rose.
We stopped in for lunch one weekday and sat in the lovely courtyard. We were served by Deniz, who was
wonderfully warm and considerate. She took particular care to make sure our 4 year old was comfy. The
food was very good, particularly the scotch eggs, and the sea bass with chorizo. Also had a nice selection
of ales.
Excellent food. Dont forget the desert. Very nice staff. If you are near the Fitzwilliam museum it's right across the street.
Visited Saturday lunch time as we were given a voucher for Christmas, had never been before. It was a set menu and there was more choice than I expected and some lovely things to choose from. The restaurant is lovely and we both really enjoyed our food. I had mussels to start (delicious sauce and not gritty at all) and grilled seabass for main course, it was spot on. My husband had king prawns for starter which he did have a slight niggle with (burnt pieces - which he did mention to staff) and fish and chips for main which he said was lovely. The wine that came with the set menu was surprisingly good too! A niggle for me, when asked if we'd like some water on the table, we weren't expecting it to be almost £5.. water on the table is usually complementary where we're from. The staff were all very nice, in particular the man that told me how I could make the mussels sauce at home. We both left full and happy - we would definitely return!
Delicious Mother’s Day prix fixe, and an amazing deal for hearty and delicious food. Good amount of options as well. Would highly recommend. Nice atmosphere and friendly service.
Dropped in on Saturday evening without a reservation. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice selection of dishes and a cosy restaurant feeling.
Dropped a star due to our table which was very small and really close to another, and my wife's food came out of the kitchen a bit on the cold side; mine was perfect.
Would eat here again.
Was visiting Cambridge and decided to stop by for fish and chips. It was great as stated by prior reviewers. Staff was also exceptional, espicially Georgia as she was attentive and friendly.
Great food and drinks, the staff is also very nice
Great for lunch or dinner and the set menus are good value. Had a good dinner last night but the service was a bit slow with a long wait between courses. The traditional fish and chips is a large plate of chips with a good sized cod, along with parsley sauce and mushy peas. The king prawn linguine was filling and the sauce had a nice spicy edge to it. The dish of the night was the pan of mussels and we will be returning next Tuesday for mussel night.
