The Champion Of The Thames - Cambridge - Photo album

Lawrence is the landlord. He presides over a truly wonderful pub, an 'island of beauty'. No grim pop music. Great beer, and a very familial atmosphere. He can be a very proud publican for sure! Renato and Frank were very polite and really quite lovely barman! I will be back he within in the week f
This pub is a gem with the cleanest pipes in Cambridge. Barkeeper Frank is a true legend, works for two, and makes sure you never stay thirsty for too long. It is a place full of character and authenticity; a place where you find yourself in the paradoxical situation that time seems to stand still b
A proper pub - no food, just good alcohol and a nice space. A nice wood burning stove completes the atmosphere. Also do a fantastic pub quiz on Tuesdays at 8pm.
Cambridge Pub Tour – No. 7: Champion of the Thames is now my favourite pub in Cambridge. It is located on King Street behind Jesus College, and although it is only four or five minutes away from King's College, tourists rarely find it. As a result, most of the patrons are residents and regulars who
Lovely vibe! Great beers! My favorite thing about this pub would be the amazing bartender/bar manager. Great humor, very caring about costumers and polite! You will definitely have a lovely time there.
Delightful pub with lots of charm and wood. A proper pub (cannot remember how to spell quint.....!) Greene King pub but I went with Wolf Brewery Sirius Dog Star. A SIBA Gold star winner. Smallest beer garden ever .2 seats! Well worth a visit..
Came for a quick pint on a Saturday afternoon while visiting Cambridge for the weekend. Was full of locals for the rugby and felt like our local at home. A proper pub! Everyone friendly, and a great atmosphere. I could've stayed for hours!!
All round great pub! Having been to many a pub (as a student in Cambridge and then as a necessary after work break!), I've found that the best pubs have fantastic staff, (Filipe) and comfortable surroundings to drink and unwind in. The Champ definitely comes up tops for all these things! I've never
Lovely old-style local pub, plenty of character, friendly service, good choice of beer, free wi-fi. What more could you ask? Wish I could visit more often.
Very cosy little pub, friendly and full of old English character. One or two flourishes of Cambridge regalia but this felt like a local's pub.
