What a historic place. The pub itself is really old with low ceilings and beams. The floor is on 2 levels. There are 3 fireplaces. The walls have wood panels, really is lovely. The bar has an excellent selection of drinks. Which are served by friendly staff. We had dinner here 2 nights, and each night had different staff on who were all friendly and happy to chat to you. The Friday night, we both had cod and chips with crushed minted peas, delicious. Really good-sized portions. My husband had sticky toffee pudding and custard for pudding. On Saturday night, we shared a camembert with red onion chutney and toast. For mains, I had steak pie with chips and vegetables, and my husband had chicken and bacon tagliatelle. Again, everything was delicious. The bedrooms are in a separate building which you walk under a roof so as not to get wet. Our room has 2 twin beds with a good size shower room. The shower wasn't the best, but there was plenty of hot water. There is an air-conditioning unit in the bedroom, which also acts as a heater. Very efficient. We would definitely stay here again. It is a couple of miles to the centre of Cambridge, which we walked, but there is also a bus that you can get the PR3 from the centre of Cambridge and get off just round the corner on Maris Lane. It is very quiet here. There is ample free parking here.

Just spent 2 nights while 3 of us visited the Duxford Museum. Very friendly staff, good food at sensible prices. The rooms are basic but well cleaned. Thank you to the staff as we’ve had a nice stay and would come back again.

Good service, main meals excellent. Disappointing desserts for gluten free choices. So chose Irish coffee instead but this wasn't available. The main courses were extremely good- empty plates all round. Lovely location - beautiful low beams and lovely atmosphere

Was very apprehensive on arrival but my experience significantly improved. The rooms were very basic but very clean and did the job, bed was clean and fairly comfortable although found myself waking every few hours due to the air conditioning clonking. Food was again basic but well cooked. Staff were exceptional and friendly. Overall a good experience and would stay again.

Good range of local ales. Didn't stay, but its a nice local pub with cosy atmosphere and traditional decor. Beware the low ceiling and step by the bar, especially after a few beers!

We needed a reasonably priced night's stay, close to Cambridge to avoid paying City stay prices. Lord Byron Inn is ideal. The staff at time of our arrival were very friendly and helpful. Ryan stepped forward and assisted us with a problem we had when we first arrived and he offered a solution, which meant our stay went well from then on. We were in room 01 and were happy with the location of our basic accomodation. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and just like the bedding too Beds and pillows comfortable. Towels were thin but hey ho we were only there for one night. Quality name brand refreshments next to the kettle. This place was a gem of a find.

Check in was 4pm but when we arrived there was nobody around. Eventually found a door open and after 5 mins someone came out of the kitchen and said we dont open until 4 and we pointed out it was 4.15 he disappeared and came back shortly followed by the owner who said sorry to keep you I was outside chatting .... There was a problem with the water in our room .maybe an air lock .The plumbing gurgled all night and the shower was like a drip. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast staff lovely . Nice beer garden.

We stayed for one night. The room was quite basic but very clean . There was the biggest bed I had ever seen. It was very comfy with clean crisp bed linen. The TV had a large screen. The bathroom was large and the white towels were very soft. We had a very comfortable sleep. The breakfast was just what I wanted, well cooked and served by very friendly lady. We had dinner in the restaurant the night we arrived which was delicious and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We will be back.

Room was clean but basic. Unfortunately there was no food available for an evening meal. But the breakfast the next morning was excellent, as was the service. Apart from no evening meal not a bad stay.

We came for Sunday lunch and had the carvery. The portions are HUGE and very tasty. The veg was delicious: definitely not a run-of-the-mill meat and 2 veg!

Fairly basic, dated but clean facilities. Massive beds. Poor soundproofing. Food and beer was pretty good. Friendly enough staff.
