We had our mother's wake at the Carlton arms, and we were certainly not let down. The food was lovely and plentiful. Tea and coffee were provided for those who didn't want anything from the bar. We were able to play a PowerPoint of photos on the TV screen. The staff were very kind to us. We are grateful that everything went well on such a difficult day.

Sunday roast here is second to none. Absolutely the best lunch ever. Brilliant home cooked, quality food. Choose from Beef, Turkey, Pork (the best Crackling) and Ham. The most enormous variety of excellently cooked vegetables, perfect roast potatoes, yorkshires and gravy. Have not found a better roast anywhere. You will not go home hungry. Lovely friendly staff, who all want to please their customers. Can't rate the Carlton Arms any higher.

Fantastic, honest pub. Staff are lovely, food is delicious, particularly the carvery. Overall spotlessly clean facilities. Great old school pub.

Great pies on Tuesdays. Good beer and cider selection. Has a nice outdoor space as well with some toys for kids. Watched a women's world cup game here as well.

What I would call a spit and sawdust kind of place, good cheap pub grub mostly frequented by locals.

Hands down the best full English breakfast in town! Massive if you get the large. The fried bread is a great touch.

Haven't eaten in the actual pub as yet because of lockdown. Have had their takeaway Sunday lunches and they are really good. You get loads to eat, in fact too much The carvery meat has always been tender and the choice of vegetables is second to none. I counted at least 9 different veg last week.you can pick the lunches up yourself or have it delivered. Friendly staff. Will give it a try when pub opens properly but would imagine you would have to book in advance as I believe this pub is popular.
