Food was exceptional, staff were friendly, can’t wait for my return visit.
Decent, got to keep typing though because the review must be a certain length.
Ham and Cheese Croissant is the best!
Runny cheese filling with a crispy cheese topping. It's the best savoury croissant I have had in Cambridge. Absolutely tasty.
Have tried other items in the bakery already, but always come back for this ham and cheese croissant.
It's so popular that often sold out very early. Had to get up really early if you want to have one.
Hope that Cambridge Oven will produce more of it.
Stopped there for a cup of tea and quick bite. Pastries look delicious, I couldn’t decide between a Chelsea bun and an apple pie for good ten minutes!
Pros
1. Fantastic sweet pastries, can recommend a Chelsea bun. So soft, moist, cinnamony and sugary, every bite was a delight (haha, so happy to remember the experience I even started rhyming 😂)
2. The place itself is nice looking and comfy
3. They are open until 4am on Saturdays, yay!
Cons
1. Strictly imo but I’d love to drink a cup of good loose leaf tea with such amazing pastries. They offer teabags of English Breakfast and Earl Grey which is a bit boring.
The Cambridge oven is located 10 min from the Cambridge train station 🚉 the pastry’s are amazing .. very tasty 😋 fresh .. just delicious.. the service is very friendly .. you can eat in the coffee shop or take one of the four seats in front of the shop .. just great thank you 🙏
Today my bus was cancelled so I had to walk to work, and in doing so, past this bakery that I have wanted to enter for weeks. I am legitimately furious about how good the food is. I had an apple cruffin and it was the best thing I have literally ever eaten in my life. Now I have to debate if I should stop taking the bus, and walk an hour to work just so I can stop in and continue to eat here! I take baked goods that involves sugar very seriously, this is 10/10
I'm not a fan of raisins and dried fruit in general, but that Chelsea bun might turn me around. The texture was perfect, and the taste was nostalgic and warm. Like your favourite blanket on a cold day. I wasn't even thinking of buying it, but the girl at the counter convinced me. Kudos to you, counter lady.
Absolutely amazing pastries, as good as anything I’ve ever had in Paris. I love coming here & I highly recommend going! I’m so happy I can get decent cruffins in Cambridge! We just had the most delicious apple & pear with crème pâtissière pastry, wow! Lovely service, great bakery & coffee shop!
The croissant and croissant type pastries I got were incredible. Especially the Apple one!!
So good that they still deserve five stars even though the following is also true:
Unfortunately the cappuccino was a bit burnt. It tasted vaguely like a cigarette, which if you’re an ex smoker isn’t the worst for nostalgia’s sake. But if you’re looking for a good coffee it isn’t the best. And even though it was a slow, relaxed morning, the staff wasn’t particularly friendly. Still worth it for those pastries though!
They cancelled my TooGoodToGo order whilst I was literally in front of the store, moments before the collection window. Despite that, their pastries are really good.
Good little bakery with good coffee, the people serving were nice and the croissant I had was quite good! I enjoyed the relaxed feel and overall had quite a good experience!
Tastes good! Reasonable price
Great sourdough and chelsea buns and really great oat Flat White! Staff really friendly too, win win
Among the best (almond or regular) croissants I have tried in Cambridge. Coffee is pleasant as well.
Best croissants (and pain au chocolat) in Cambridge. I have ended up going there multiple times a week to get them because they are so perfect. Cambridge is truly blessed to have them. Picture of most recent pain au chocolat attached.
Lovely bakery, very nice sour dough bread and wonderful cakes and pastries, unfortunately no café attached.
Nice artisan bakery cafe, opens early on Sat and have nice odd muffins which are technically croissants. Very delicious, it's just a bit too small for the price and made me hungry too early! One muffin usually keeps me full till lunch but not these
Paused here for coffee and a pastry, turned out a delightful experience. Definitely a cafe I'll return to next time I walk that way.
Delicious cruffins stuffed with apple, passion fruit or lime (£3.20 as seen in picture)
