The food was amazing (I had the slow cooked salted pork belly) and every bite was delicious. We were served very quickly and we didn't have to wait very long at all for our food to arrive. The staff were very polite and professional. Arguably one of the best things was the pianist! A nice variety of music to accompany the meal.

Had the most delicious brunch here on Monday morning. Celebrating a birthday & Alexandra was the best waitress ever! So attentive & provided a birthday pudding too. Can’t wait to return.

Since its refurb earlier this year, Browns continues to be a very elegant and relaxed way to dine in Cambridge. For us, this will be our regular Saturday morning breakfast haunt, get there early and you can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere whilst enjoying (in my opinion) the best breakfasts in Cambridge.

Browns has been a Cambridge institution since it opened its doors in 1987. The beautiful building was part of the old Addenbrooke’s Hospital originally built in 1766 and the outpatients department, with its majestic columns, was built as a memorial to King Edward VII in 1914. I visited Browns a few times when I moved to Cambridge and I have to admit it was looking a little tired and the spaces didn’t flow. Browns has now been completely transformed thanks to an extensive interior refurbishment. It’s contemporary and luxurious with a touch of glamour in every area, from the sweeping bar and its grand piano to the various purposely designed spaces for public, semi-private and private dining. Ideal for parties, family gatherings, business meetings and romantic dinners, there are sections for every occasion.

It’s dog friendly but on menu a few items for them would be great! More seating space as all we had on offer was one table indoors. Gina all along was so lovely and fab service. Your smile made the special day. On booking it was added special occasion being birthday so a small gesture would have been nice knowing it’s Browns! Drinks long straws were over but two of the cocktails were decent. Main meals were spot on. Really nice food. Would visit again for Gina and the Chef’s cooking!

Saturday night with Simon (Piano man) was delightful! Brown’s created such a good atmosphere for anyone who wants to relax over the weekend (and splurge a little) with good food and nice music. Fish Pie was delicious, authentic says some British friends, and the sticky toffee pudding was a great addition to end the night.

Classy! We were lucky enough that live piano music were being played the night we had dinner in Cambridge. We had a lovely evening with friends, great wholesome m meals, great bar, and mostly good service (depending who you get). Our waiter was very personable and friendly.

As like all Browns restaurants it was a lovely place to enjoy a meal. However on this occasion we went for the set menu which was slightly underwhelming. The food was nice but without added sides would not have been enough. The staff were friendly and accommodating, providing a good service. I had the fish cakes which were quite nice and for starters the mushrooms on toast were delicious.

Afternoon tea on a wet Thursday in October. Great selection of food and well presented. Not sure the tea was Earl Grey, unless it's some new blend with additional flavours added, but certainly not bergamot.

Lovely atmosphere and welcome. Very slow service. However, it was busy and the pulled lamb shepherd's pie was excellent. 👌

Wonderful evening here with my Mum. There was a live pianist which was really special. Delicious food, great service, at a place that is part of Cambridge’s cultural history - I remember coming here as a teenager which is almost 40 years ago!! 😳 (and it’s better than I remember too!) Would definitely recommend, and will be returning next time I’m here.

Browns is a great place to eat. I have been to other Browns before but the one in Cambridge is my favourite. The restaurant itself carries a great ambience in the large, spacious hall. Staff are attentive and friendly. The food was fresh and tasty. There was also a good selection of wines and beer on tap.

Had another lovely evening at Browns (with my wife). Great atmosphere and fantastic service from our waitress “Grace” who elevated the whole evening. If I had one critique - it’s that the menu doesn’t appear to have changed in a long while.

Service was 5*, the staff were friendly and attentive. Atmosphere of course was cosy! Food was amazing especially the starter and dessert (we had cod cheeks and brownie and crumble) we both had a steak. Being honest the steak wasn’t the what steak I’ve ever had BUT it was still good. Maybe not quite worth 33 quid.. overall good experience and I would go back. Just not for steak :p

Had a lovely brunch here. The gluten free menu is fairly extensive too and at a good price! The only downside was the service was slow, especially when it came to getting the bill.

I can’t express how much we enjoyed our night out in browns! 🥰 my and my friends came in to celebrate my sisters birthday, and it was so nice, our waiters Norma and Luca took such a good care of us, and the desserts came with a candle 🥹 Definitely will be back xx

I've been to a browns restaurant before and I loved it, so I had to check out one more on my trip to Cambridge! Firstly kudos to the server, Pedro for a professional and warm experience. The food was very good: I started with the Scallops - those tender fishy shards of goodness went perfectly with the pea sauce. I only wish there were more! Being all fished out I had the sirloin for my main which was perfectly cooked to order (you can never have enough steak). It was well seasoned, moist and meaty. Perfectly balanced. I was tempted by a dessert but I finished my date's main because she couldn't manage the whole rack and I definitely could. The lamb was exceptional and it really set up our night well! The drinks were also great! I would really recommend this place for the food, excellent service and cocktails. I'll be back and Pedro better have my Old Fashioned waiting for me.

An amazing dinner at Brown's Brasserie, Cambridge. Delicious food, great atmosphere and a tremendous front of house service from Wiktor. He would not be out of place as front of house on The Savoy. We'll done all round.
