Amazing food and lovely friendly staff! Would highly recommend you try this place.
One of the best places to get indian cuisine! Unfortunately one of the staff memeber(she) is a racist, it spoils the experience!
Amazing restaurant...amazing food...amazing staff...very friendly,helpful and attentive...definitely recommend!

Finally I can enjoy those delicious chennai Idly-sambar-chutney combo in Cambridge! I recommend this place to experience the authentic South Indian food.
Delicious food! Got to be one of my favorite places to eat in Cambridge.
I definitely recommend the parotta bread and deviled lamb- DELICIOUS. First time trying Sri Lankan food and we absolutely loved it! Nice to try something a bit different than the usual curry, we'll definitely be back again soon.
My first Sri Lankan food experience.
Brilliant service and really nice food cooked with a lot of care.
Interesting, tasty and incredible value.
Hope they do well,
This is our favourite restaurant in Cambridge. We try to get here at least once a month if finances allow...
Fantastic food at a very reasonable price. Not your usual Indian cuisine, either!
Food and staff were amazing. Will definitely come again!
Excellent food at very good prices. Will definitely visit again.
I always enjoy the authentic south indian cuisine here and whenever my parents visit, they'll ask to come here. Quite a few dishes are too spicy for my preferences so I order a curd rice or lassi to balance it out.
Slight negative, when I have ordered online and requested less spicy options, there doesn't seem to be any difference!
On this occasion we had the Kadai paneer, ceylon dosa, curd rice and plain dosa. The various accompanying chutneys and sambar are delicious too. We had enough to take home leftovers.
Service is quick, efficient. Prices seem reasonable for Cambridge.
Fantastic place to enjoy south Indian food!
We ordered plain Dosa, masala Dosa, ghee roast Dosa. All dishes along with Sambar are chutney were impeccably prepared. Could not ask for anything more.
Definitely recommended place for the south Indian food ! :)
We had also ordered Veg rolls for starters, which was okayish (maybe to our tastes)...
Also, I suggest to book a reservation in advance, especially on weekend evenings.
Authentic Indian cuisine. Warning: even the mild curries are very spicy.
Mango Lassie is the best I’ve ever had and the dishes were as good as Aunty Brenda. I’ve been eating Indian since I married a girl from Kolkata 35years ago - called Calcutta back then.
Fantastic food and great staff. All good food if you like to taste original South Indian cuisine. Speed of service is awesome and variety of food challenges to pick the favourite for a night where space in stomach limits to makes you visit frequently to try all to fall in love with it.
We came here curious to try this place and ended up very glad we did. It's definitely going to be a regular place going forward. The food was excellent, we liked every dish that we ordered and the service was great. We did a walk-in at 7 and by 7:30 it was practically full so probably a good idea to book as it's definitely a hit with the locals. For our starters we had Medu vada with rasam and chilli fried idlis both were very tasty. For the mains we had an authentic crispy masala dosa with a nice selection of chutney and sauces. Devilled kingfish which was amazing as I haven't seen kingfish on menus anywhere!. We had the curd rice as a side and for dessert we had the milk pudding and orange coloured dessert. The bill was very affordable too so we are pleased with this place and will definitely be coming back.
Super ambiance, nice service, tasty food and Tamil song in background
Bananaleaf has some of the best South Asian food I've had in the UK. The portion sizes are great, and the prices are reasonable (for Cambridge). The only bad thing about the place is that the restaurant is a bit small, so I'd recommend booking ahead of time.
The only better curry I've had was in India.
What can I say, just try it! Fair price, big quantity, if you like Indian, Sri Lanka and spicy food, this is a "must try". I've been here more times, always very very good!

Delicious South Indian food. Very authentic! If you can’t take spice this restaurant is probably not for you but if you like Indian food or want to try something new and different I highly recommend. Ramani provided excellent service and we will be back!
had a great time here with a couple of friends. it was busy so had a lively atmosphere.
the chicken 65, devilled potatoes and lamb fried rice were excellent
Banana leaf, the name itself telling that it gonna be fresh. I had very good experience with the Banana leaf, the way of hospitality and the way serving. Let's, come to food, it was a delicious food I ever had past months. I strongly suggested that Banana leaf is gonna be a best food to taste.
Bananaleaf is a place for dining in, not for ordering delivery. We love their food and were recently willing to wait the predicted hour and a half for food, but it ended up taking 2 hours and arrived cold. The long delivery time is fairly normal, but this time just felt like a bit too far. Honestly, if you have two hours to wait for delivery you might as well go to the restaurant. We won't be ordering delivery from them again, but we will certainly be going to the restaurant because their food is amazing. You should too.
Amazing South Indian and Sri Lankan food! Chefs are clearly top notch and know what they’re doing - one of the very few restaurants in the UK that makes you feel like you’re back on the subcontinent because the taste of the food is par excellence! The devilled chicken and spinach curry specifically is to die for! It’s also super affordable for those of us coming from London.
Brought my wife here for her birthday as she's a dosa fan. Very simple, unassuming restaurant where the focus is on the food. Everything we ordered was on our table in lightening time, cooked to perfection, and tasted yummy. This is our new favourite restaurant for South Indian cuisine. Highly recommended 👌
Sometime back visited with family members and i can confidently say this was authentic south india food we had - delicious and well served ! We has masala dosa which was crisp and tasty and idlis were soft too ! All of my family enjoyed their meals and i would highy recommmend this place ! Thanks Bananaleaf all the best !
Wonderful food. If craving some delicious South Indian affair , do visit this restaurant. Best Dosas in town .....ND added bonus of them having a bar.....the restaurant specializes in Sri Lankan Tamil specialities.
I have visited Bananaleaf once, however the experience has stayed with me even after returning back home.Being from India we didnt expect the food to be authentic tasting to perfection! We were taken by a surprise, dosas & idlys tasted better than many South Indian dining places in India/Sri Lanka! We had our stomach and heart filled up!I will definitely go back to Bananaleaf when in Cambridge next!
Nice cozy little place. I was craving for Dosa for a while now and selected their place based on Google reviews and I was not disappointed. Authentic taste with a reasonable price! The menu provides a wide range of South Indian/ SriLankan cuisine, we had chicken 65, paneer masala Dosa and chicken kothu roti, and we were very satisfied with the food. Only the dessert section could have been better. I would go back there again.
