This is very much a local pub, but it's close to me so it's my local pub. The food is not bad, but not very good either - limited menu. But it has a good selection of ales, and always has a friendly atmosphere: real friends meeting for a happy catch-up.
Delicious pizza. Cozy atmosphere. Staff is friendly and very helpful to a naive American expat.
Our favorite place for Monday's 2 for 1 pizzas as well. Also, nice ambiente and good choice of beers.
Love this place! They have a great selection for vegetarians. I would recommend the Shroom and Monroe pizzas. Their pots are quite good as well. Their service was very friendly, courteous and fast.
I have continued to be impressed with this place, and it has become my favourite regular place on Monday nights due to their two-for-one pizza special. I should add that their pizzas are very good. Also, their wait staff is charming and friendly.
After a recent refurbishment this big local pub is better than ever. Thankfully they didn't go down the identikit gastro pub redecoration route and The Salisbury is still as full of charm and character as ever. Good venue for meeting up with groups as there are quite a few big tables. There's also a newly added covered smoking terrace and look out for the swinging hook game on the wall - hours of tipsy fun.
One of my favourite pubs in Cambridge, situated just minutes from Mill road. The staff is nice and you wont find a bigger and better ham sandwich anywhere in the city. It is huge, under £4 and for a pound extra you can have it with chips or ask for salad instead. the salad is really nice!!!
A great pub, close to the station, and with a good selection of beer and enough space to meet friends comfortably. The walls have crazy decorations on them, which make for talking points, especially when tipsy!
This is a really fun, popular pub. I haven't tried the food in this pub but the bar stretches right down the length of the pub and there are odd decorations such as a manikin on a bike attached to the ceiling! There are also a few quiz machines to get addicted to in there. I would say that it's a really good pub for large groups, the service is friendly and the music's pretty good. There is a good selection of drinks although it could do with some more lagers. It's big, brash and I very much like it.
Great place this. I also had a pint in an old style traditional glass which was a nice change. Beer or lager is always clean you can get really good quality pizzas here for the usual range of £11 - £15 odd.
Popped in for a drink, stayed for food and wasn't upset.
Staff nice and friendly.
Quirky pub, don't let the outside fool you.
Good selection of beers.
Food was really nice and not badly priced. Worth a visit for sure.
So far this is one of the best pubs I’ve been to for a while.
The staff are great. The vibe is good.
It’s worth coming here just for the pizza. The dough is light and crunchy with decent toppings.
Definitely worth a visit.
Great pizzas for all ages, Tuesday is pub quiz night with good amount of questions that you are able to answer with average popular culture knowledge. I especially liked the guess rounds with a chance to win Tunnocks tea cakes and the Shredder BBQ beef pizza.
While the place can get a bit crowded and noisy, specially on mondays, it is a place I'd recommend anyone that wants to bring foreign friends along for a Cambridge Pub experience
On Mondays you may need to book a table, since they have a 2×1 pizza offer, but the food is great and I'd recommend trying it. Staff is also very friendly and makes the pub feel safe despite the large size.
I cannot recommend this place enough, I go regularly and my only issue has been that the inside can get a bit noisy
Fun bar to have a couple of drinks.they are famous for there thin pizzas wich are cooked in the back of the bar. They have a little mini super nintendo hooked up to a tv in the front.and they do quizes. I think they make it fun.good prices a nd friendly staff.they have a garden where u can smoke.not all that bit still a garden
This is the best pizza in the area by a mile!! Delicious fresh oven baked and swift service. We intend to go back regularly and the atmosphere is relaxed and staff are friendly. Veggies and meat lovers alike should be able to find a tasty meal: plus they do takeaway!!
Great and very authentic looking place. We were there on a Friday night, and I am surprised how pleasant and not too busy it was. Lots of tabs for draft beer, but not too much diversity in dark beers such stouts and porters. They were out of the coffee stout and the porter :((
I've heard this place gets busy, but we got there at a good time.
This place had a nice ambiance, pub style.
The food was served quickly, and had a nice bread crust. The gluten free style was a bit too crispy, but was very good for gluten free.
There is buy 1 get 1 free on Mondays, and so the price was very reasonable.
Best pub in Cambridge, lovely atmosphere, pizza and drinks. The gluten free options are great and the service is always fab
Really friendly, popular place. Attentive staff, kept clean between customers.
I hadn't eaten here before today regrettably. Awesome pizza (I'd recommend the Heifer), lovely pint. Cambridge prices.
Hidden gem, Monday deals make extra worthwhile.
It's not as airy and bright as the pic shows, but I was there on a dreary dark day in winter. The staff was helpful and efficient; food good. I had a small pizza and a pint. Pretty good. The place is a busy pub. It is not going to win an award for pristinely clean tables or restroom. It is a pub that was convenient for me, and, as I said, the food was tasty and beer was too.
I love the atmosphere in this pub. Also, one of the best pints of Ghost Ship ever.
Love the food. Love the quiz. Love the staff. Love the pub. One of my favourites in Cambridge!
Great customer service (we arrived 5 min after kitchen close but they made an exception) and the pizza was great. I’ve been here ~10 times, always great.
Nice pub with friendly staff and delicious pizza baked in a traditional oven
Definitely worths a visit!
Decent parking options outside, as you can park along Tension road after 5pm. The beer selection is ok, typical Charlie Wells on tap, but quite limited. The pizzas do look incredible, so will have to come back and try them!
